I have so much respect for the Military Personnel that have sacrificed so much in order for my family and I to live in freedom in our Great Nation. I am a son of United States Army Soldier who served in the Korean War and I am so proud of my father who recievd two Bronze Stars in Combat during the Korean War. Even though my Father died in 2006 at the age of 78 he never bragged or talked that much about his time he spent in Combat. I knew he was involved in day to day Combat Operations that were so brutal that no American that has not served in the Military could begin to understand what Soldiers went thru. I am a true fan of the War movies of Audie Murphy and others who gave us a history lesson of the Military Operations of past Wars. Thank you Audie Murphy for being a Great American Hero. :D Added: October 13, 2012

i can still remember the first time i saw TO HELL AND BACK. i think i was about 14 or 15 years old. seeing Audie Murphy for the first time really moved me. the man short in stature like me, 5ft. 7 in. was a true hero. to have the guts and fortitude he had. was amazing. its so sad his life ended so early but his amazing story will live on for many years to come and i know it will be an insperation to many..... I first saw Audie when I was a kid when I saw To Hell And Back. I had seen Red Badge of Courage but didn't know he was a war hero. I have the utmost respect for him and his family and I wish to express my gratitude for all that he did. It was a sad day when I heard of his death in a plane crash in North Carolina. We lost a great man.
