I have been a WWII enthusiast all my life and studied military history for a good portion of it. Audie Murphy is, by far one of the most heroic Americans in our history. His heroism went well beyond the war, however, because of the challenges he faced and defeated personally after the war and most importantly what he did to raise awareness and benefits for veterans who suffered from wars horrors. He should never be forgotten and he should always be remembered in our prayers. Added: October 28, 2014

One of my favorite actors that reminds me so much of my Uncle Raymond Grass SSGT U. S. Army World War 11 veteran killed in action in Italy. He received a silver star,Bronze Star and purple heart posthumously for his bravery and actions. Added: October 28, 2014

It is refreshing to see a website as this to honor a great American Hero like Audie Murphy. I just had the honor of escorting my Father, James C. Laney (Sergeant, Pacific Theater) to Washington D.C., As part of Honor Flight DFW #21 to visit the WWII Memorial to honor his fallen Brothers In Arms. There were 41 WWII Veterans on this trip and it was not only one of the highlights of my life, but a dream come true and a memory that will live on with these Veterans till the day they are called home. As part of this incredible journey, the visit to Audie Murphy's grave at Arlington was one of many emotional moments of the trip. To see that many WWII Veterans stand on frail limbs and salute one of their own from Texas was truly a site to behold. Thank you so much for honoring one of the great ones from "the greatest generation" because in doing so you also honor my Father and all of the other Veterans who have served the greatest country in the World thru their service.
