I assumed he was living happily in Montana or Colorado or somewhere similar

have been a fan of Mr.Murphy all my life first as a western fan as a young boy than a pure fan as I grew older. was living in the d.c area when he passed in the crash. it floored me as I was only a small boy. and to this day I am still a fan and always fascinated about his life.

I believe we may be 2nd cousins. My Dad Robert Murphy was in WW2 and said he was related to Audie, so I assume they were 2nd cousins

My dad told me about Audie Murphy a few years ago. I am astounded to read as to how many decorations he earned. A true inspiration. We enjoy what we have today as a result of such heroism. I also like watching his films but I wonder how many of the younger generation see this gentleman on film without realising what he did.
