I am a college graduate yet knew very little about the hero, Audie Murphy, until coming across one of his movies and doing a bit of research on him. For a college graduate not to know who this hero was is just wrong. This man and what he did for our nation should be in every history book in our schools. I am so glad this website exist. There needs to be more accurate information about this man out there. Our young people in this nation are hero worshiping sports stars with police records and celebrities who do nothing but complain and live horrible lives all the while honorable life of Audie Murphy is ignored. I can only hope that a few find this website and learn about all the wonderful heroic things Audie Murphy did for this nation.

This morning, I'm taking some grandchildren to the Audie Murphy Museum near Greenville, Texas.
I was looking up his story in the Internet. I wanted more factual items to share with them instead of just my remembrances from reading. I came across your website.
I am so very glad that you have such loyalty for a man who was braver than we can conceive.

Great site in memory of a hero of the free world who created dark but beautiful poems after all he did. Let Murphy and all others who did their part be remembered.

I remember Audie as an Actor IN "TO HELL AND BACK" as I would sit and listened to my father talk highly of Audie and the sacrifices that he made both to his Country and family. Audie was one of the few Actors that went to War.
At the young age his father deserted the family, at the age of 16 his mother died and he raised 10 siblings on his own.
Audie was a very strong and mature young man that was able to provide for his family.
This was a lot for a young man to give and never complained.

I grew up knowing that Audie Murphy was a great hero my father was a World War II vet. I have been to Arlington and on each occasion I make sure I go to his grave site and pay homage to him. I have learned that his gravesite is the only one that they keep it American flag going 24 seven and the Arlington Cemetery. I serve probably in the second of the 39th Ave. attorney nice division in the US Army and I looked to audit Murphy for inspiration for the things I did well in the service.

I have been a huge fan of Audie Murphy for 60 years. I have watched him in movies and on TV. He is my American hero forever! Sad to hear that he died in 1971 but happy to hear that he is being honored through this very informative memorial website. I can't wait to visit his gravesite at Arlington National Cemetery to thank him for his service and for being an advocate for our veterans with PTSD. May Audie rest in peace. God's Blessings, Karen :!brokenheart:
