I grew up watching Audie's movies. My Dad would always remind me that Audie was the most decorated soldier. While in college I did a paper on him (2012) and found out that none for the other students knew he was. He was a major influence for me to join the service from 1978 to 1991. To this day he stands tall against all the people I have known through the years. A real hero and always will be. Added: May 1, 2020

I just love Audie Murphy ! He is one of the greatest American War Heroes of all time. i have watched many of his movies as a young person and knew at the time, that he was a a real-life war hero. I saw a pretty large picture of him at the Country Buffet restaurant in Denver, and asked my Daughter (30) and the cashier if they knew who he was. I informed them that he was Audio Murphy, a Great War Hero of WWII. He's a Great Man and my Favorite War Hero of all time. Being a Veteran in the 3rd Infantry Division, in Germany before they moved to Georgia, there are great heroic stories of Sgt Murphy. The unbelievable courage under fire and also stories of how he hated being in the spotlight. Always crediting his Platoon and brushing off the “Hero” label. By far, this young man from, I was told a poor family in dusty Texas, became so iconic, really due to the fact that he had “Nothin’ to lose”. God bless his memory and God Bless America! I grew up going to the matinee to see his movies. As I aged, I realized he was much more than a cowboy! What an honor and privilege to have this American hero in our lifetime!
