As a veteran of Vietnam, I know what war is like. Audie L. Murphy embodied the true American spirit. He did his duty not for self but for love of country. I salute him. My father landed on Omahabeach on DDay at 10:00 am as a combat medic. I was a radio operator in Vietnam and a Transportation Officer in Desert Storm. We are had when our country called. As an avid fan of Audie and his film work; I am proud of his contributions to art. But knowing the great acts he performed during war for his country and his men make me proud to be an American. A place where a young man gave so much for the freedom we know today. Thank you Audie Murphy, we need more brave men like you.

I just discovered today that a dear friend who went from north africa to germany as an airborn soldier in ww2 passed away. i am so saddened. i also read audie murphy's book recently and am overwhelmed by his courage and patriotisam. thank you.
