I am a long time fan Of Audie Murphy. I have seen most of his movies including "To Hell and Back". I was a teenager in high school in 1971, when I had heard that he had passed away. I was completely heartbroken. My mother comforted me, when she saw how upset I was. This was a person, who I truly admired and respected. He overcame everything that the world had thrown at him, by not letting that stop him from achieving his goals. This is most definitely someone who should not be forgotten. Added: December 11, 2021

I am completing a Texas History Honors research paper on Audie Murphy. It has been an exciting experience getting to know the man, Audie Murphy. I feel for him too. He was a man like we all and did what we all should do - be more thoughtful of others in what we do. I am a vet and appreciate his story and what he did. I feel honored to have done this story. I will be remember Audie Murphy the rest of my life. Added: December 11, 2021

My father served in the navy spending a lot of time in the south pacific during WW11, specifically on Guadalcanal at Henderson's Airforce Base. I know quite well what took place both in Europe against Germany and in the Pacific against Japan. My wife is from Ralston, Washington who honored a medal of honor recipient born there. His name is Reinhardt Keppler who served in the navy. It is sad and tragic that our country no longer honors those who served in the military so that we can be a free nation. Today marks the 80th anniversary of Pearl Harbor being bomb, and the media does not honor this day. Most young people are ignorant of US history and what made our country great.
