I just watched the DVD "To Hell and Back." Got a little misty-eyed for a second at the passing of Sgt. Murphy's mom. Had some laughs, especially when on the ship overseas, and the other guy blew cigar smoke in his face. But, throughout the entire DVD, I always had in the back of my mind that, when the cameras stopped rolling, the "dead men" probably got up and had a couple of beers. In real life...they don't. I am probably Audie Murphy's number one fan. I have loved watching his movies for about 50 years now and when he died I cried like he was part of my family. I only regret that I never got to meet him in person. He is and will be my favorite actor till the day I die. Added: April 19, 2015

I have always been a big fan of Audie and his many movies of my favorite is NIGHT PASSAGE with Jimmy Stewart.I think he is one of the greatest actors we have had in Hollywood the best westerns ever .I as a veteran my self thank him for his service and dedication to veterans.I have an uncle that served 3 1/2 years and landed at Omaha beach on D DAY he was wounded but later got to come home.I thank ALL VETERANS.
