Audie was a TRUE American hero. I remember seeing "To Hell And Back" in the theater in 1955. I always had much respect and admiration for Audie.

I started out as a SAMC Candidate, but have always been interested in his life from all of the AFN commercials. As I study for the Sergeant Audie Murphy Board, I am more motivated with every new fact I learn.

I grew up in the 50's and admired men and hoped one day I could be like him. I spent 18 months in Viet Nam, and wonder how Men like him slept.
He and people like him are role models, we should teach our children to be like him.
As I look at the men who raised the Flag at Iwo Jima, it is easy to see the cost of War in human term's. Go to a V A hospital and you will see the cost of war, to keep people free.
