I am a long time admirer of Audie Murphy. As a boy and young man in the mid 1950's onwards, I enjoyed all of his movies in our local picture house in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Audie was always a big hero to me.

I remember the day he died, as I was driving my car, the news bulletin advised of a light aircraft carrying Audie had disappeared presumed crashed. I was devastated.

You will never be forgotten - Audie Murphy.

I'm honored to be an American if Audie Murphy in 2016 is remembered. I've seen his movies but until yesterday never knew the hero.

Audie Murphy will never be forgotten. My grandfather was in the third wave at Normandy. Although he was not a recognized like Audie, to me he was a hero like all those who served in WW2. Thank you Audie for helping to preserve freedom from tyranny.

I am a long-time fan of this true American hero. I began watching his movies when I was a kid (I'm 64) & was impressed by his genuine "niceness". I didn't find out about his heroism until later. I have a DVD collection of what movies I can find. Some are hard to get. It's too bad that a real heros like Audie is overlooked these days in favor of sports personages people call "heros". Kids today could learn a lot about patriotism & honor from Audie's life.

I have always been an admirer/fan (or whatever the appropriate word is) of Audie Murphy. He was a very real normal person thrust into an extraordinary time and series of events. What he was able to do was amazing and we should all hope to do half so well in similar circumstances. To me he started being a hero before his service in the Army began. I wish that more people were aware of his life story and could learn some life lessons from it. He was a fine example of what America used to be and should be again. My thanks to him and all of the veterans, especially from World War 2, for the sacrifices they made for us. May God bless you Audie.
