My Dad was a WWII Veteran, and told me how great a solder Audie was. In 1992 I met Scottie Turner (a fellow Canadian) and he sent me two C90 cassettes packed with Audie/Scottie songs. I took 9 songs and scored it for a 52 piece orchestra. .. In the 17+ minute arrangement I included the melody of Lili Marleen (which was a favourite song of my Father by Marlene Dietrich)... I had it performed by a student orchestra I put together in Boston. Right now I plan to make some changes to the arrangement, program it into a computer demo and present it to the Nashville Symphony..... How great would that be for them to perform that piece at the War Memorial Auditorium (in Nashville) at their usual November 11th concert. BTW... did y'all know ? After WWII, even the Germans awarded Audie Murphy. and I got to hold his Walther P38. Added: March 12, 2017

Growing up in the 1950,s I saw Audie in several Movies but only later in life did I know of his intense Bravery and courage--at 73 he is still My Hero. May God give you Peace Audie and to all His descendants I say Peace be with you. Forever Gratefull Jerry T. Added: March 10, 2017

It takes a brave man and courage to do what he did. People seem to have short memories. People seem to take for granted over things that Soldiers did. I am amazed that no one on this site sees the possibility of Audie getting The Presidential Medal of Freedom since President Trump loves General Patton and is FOR THE MILITARY - this President I feel would consider Audie for this medal! Added: March 8, 2017

A most impressive warrior! Visited his grave when last at Arlington. He was humble even in death. Just a plain headstone like all his comrades. My dad used him as an example to us kids stating, Here's a guy that was a for real bad * * * and look how mild mannered he was. Not a loudmouth bullet but a nice guy. Added: March 5, 2017

I have always loved his movies. I knew he was a hero but did not know to what extent! We need more like him.We should always remember men who served our country and never forget them!
