When I was a kid, I watched Audie Murphy movies. Back the, I didn't know that he served our country and how amazing his military career was. He is truly an inspiration and I hope future generations will learn of this wonderful man and all that he did for our country. Thank you, Audie Murphy, for your service to our country! You were/are a true American Hero!

While touring Arlington National Cemetery in October 1989, I found Audie Murphy by accident. As I was walking along the sidewalk west of the Memorial Amphitheater. I noticed one grave marker that had an American Flag at the headstone. As this was the only grave in the cemetery to be marked this way at the time, I approached to read the headstone. It read Audie Murphy. After paying my respects and continuing my tour I learned that his grave is the ONLY one to be allowed to display the Flag all year long. The Flag is only placed at the other graves on Memorial Day and Veterans Day.

I am truly in awe of this mans accomplighments. I wish to learn more of this true American hero. They don't make men like Mr. Murphy anymore. I am wish I could have been blessed enough to have met him.

I recently visited his gravesite at Arlington and was not aware he was awarded the CMH. I'm an Air Force veteran and a HUGE fan. I'm hoping more of his movies get released for purchase!
