The European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal was awarded to Audie Murphy for service within the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater. Audie Murphy was authorized a total of 8 battle stars - one for each major campaign he participated in.

A silver battle star represent the first 5 campaigns Audie fought in on north Africa, the island of Sicily, and the mainland of Italy. The three remaining campaigns Audie Murphy fought in are represented by individual bronze battle stars for campaigns in France, Germany, and central Europe.

The eight campaigns that Audie Murphy participated in were as follows...

  1. Tunisia, North Africa
  2. Sicily, Italy
  3. Naples-Foggia, Italy
  4. Anzio, Italy
  5. Rome-Arno, Italy
  6. Southern France
  7. Rhineland, Germany
  8. Central Europe

Audie Murphy was also authorized a bronze arrowhead because of participation of amphibious landings in Sicily and Southern France.
