It nice to have sites like these to remember the "Greatest Generation". These people have given so much for so many. I thank my Father in Heaven daily for such love that these have shown for the rest of us. I thank our vets I see daily for their sacrifice.

I'm Historian and Archivist for the Museum of Western Film History in Lone Pine, CA, where Audie made three films, HELL BENT FOR LEATHER, POSSE FROM HELL and SHOWDOWN. We have a wall in our museum dedicated to Audie featuring a medals display, a pair of his boots, a shooting script for TO HELL AND BACK signed by Paul Picerni and several posters. I'm working on a book covering the history of the films Audie did between 1959 and 1969, with an emphasis on the three he made in Lone Pine. I would very much like to speak to Mike West, who was interviewed extensively in the A&E BIOGRAPHY episode AUDIE MURPHY: GREAT AMERICAN HERO

I first saw Audie when I was 13 years old. There was something about him I knew was special. I later found out about his military record. I thank God we had him a true hero.

What an incredible young man he was. Brave and kind and above all humble. I wish more young men today had a small measure of the qualities Audie Murphy displayed.

I have always been a fan of Audie Murphy ever since watching his autobiographical movie, "To Hell and Back." He was an actor that made many movies which are entertaining and something the whole family could enjoy, unlike much of the filth produced in Hollywood today!

My father has always been a loyal fan of Audie Murphy from the time he was a child, seeing one of Murphy's films in a theater, and is a Vietnam Veteran. I am also an avid fan of Audie Murphy and his life story. The world suffered a great loss when Audie died, whether anyone realized or not.

Thank you for your service, Mr. Murphy. Although you are no longer with us you have always been my inspiration and envious while I served in Vietnan from 1969 to 1971 as a Helicopter Aero Scout Gunner and Huey Crew chief. I have been selected to attend a Honor Flight to Washinton DC april 9 and I will go to Arlington National Cemetery to pay you my respects. My thoughts are with you on Veteran’s Day.

As a former marine officer.ie captain;no other in history, fought so hard on one hand to be killed and to single handedly kill every german there was in the german army....it is sad that one so full of courage, forgot about safety,to succeed in his duty out of pain for his lost buddy or to make every german pay for it ..it amazes me how he and General Patton died oddly in a similar way and l am thoroughly grateful Audie did what he did, not for honor, but caring.l wish his memory would go on eternally
