My dad and I were talking about Audie Murphy this past weekend. Then I saw that Farmersville, Tx had a street named after him, so I checked out on the internet about where he was from, etc. Added: June 1, 2011

It's Memorial Day and I thought I would look up Audie Murphy and tell some people about him. I loved his movies and think that it is great he was a brave soldier. We also have the Audie Murphy Veteran's Hospital near us. Added: May 30, 2011

I have been an Audie Murphy fan for as long as I can remember. He was an admirable man and a true American Hero! I have to admit as a young girl and teenager I had a really big crush on him because he was drop dead handsome and a movie star to boot.But as I read about and learned more about him I was awed that such a person even existed.Brave beyond anything I could imagine and generous of himself,tough as nails and a superb marksman. Lest we never forget what this great American gave so freely, and what he did for his country, so that free people may someday realize the true cost of freedom.
It is really shamefull that so many Americans do not know who Audie Murphy is, and what he did for the U.S. Whatever we can do to keep his memory and deeds alive should be done at all costs.
