Audie Murphy teaches by his valor never to judge anybody. I first learned this in army basic training in 1955 at Fort Ord, Ca. I looked at this older lanky guy who I thought would not be impressive in a 100 yard sprint we were required medalto do. Well as it turned out, he went so fast he passed out before the finish line. I then was told he had won The Medal Of Honor. No more judging from then on I said to myself.

i was unaware of this site but i have great respect for Audie and his accomplishments. a very fine gentleman and a good movie actor as well. very sad his life was cut short.

I first went into the US Army after HS 1965 and was sent to Viet Nam, got out in 1968 and enlisted in the US Navy in 1974 and retired 1992.
I believe that he is the reason for my military service.
He is a well known American Hero! :!rock:
