Comment:
Prior to retirement (military and public high school teacher) I always showed the movie To Hell And Back close to a patriotic holiday. youth need to know about true American heros like Audie Murphy. The movie is the only one of its kind that follows a WW2 hero. Describes actual events about an actual hero and the hero was actually played by the hero himself. Added: June 22, 2012

It is a sadness that he left us so young. This MAN, a GIANTl among ALL other men. We could truly use such a idyllic and patrioticly oriented hero now more than ever when our youth seem so lost and without enough of a moral compass to show them how to gain in life through total self sacrifice and why dedicated patriotism is not only politically correct but actually a necessity in order for our country to regain what it has not merely lost but rather forgetfully dropped by the wayside. Mr Murphy would fall to tears at the sight of our youth today and what drives them. Happy birthday to my hero Audie Murphy your sacrifices were not in vain. They will echo forever throughout the halls of the history of freedom. Sincerely,Robert George Green
