I am a Big fan of all his films, i did not realize how big a war hero he was, he never seams to boast or talk much about his war memories, but that seams to be the case of most soldiers who served in the wars.

What a great American that all children and teachers should be familiar with his history. Major Murphy was truly a great American that defended his country to the very best of his ability. I hope we never forget his sacrifice.

Growing up watching Westerns and really wanting to be Audie Murphy so all the girls would fancy me instead of Audie. He became a major part of my early life as he was a real life war hero.
Sad to hear his star is fading a bit but for me he will always shine brightly.
