Summary: Framed by saloon keeper Luke Starr, the ruthless boss of a Texas frontier town, lawman Jess Carlin takes refuge in a Mexican town and becomes known as The Texican. He breaks his vow never to return to Texas, however, when his brother, the editor of a smalltown newspaper, is murdered after exposing Starr's crooked dealings. Jess outdraws the gunfighters sent by Luke to kill him and sets about finding proof of Starr's guilt in his brother's murder. He becomes involved with Kit O'Neal, a dancehall girl to whom Luke is attracted, and with his brother's former fiancée, Sandy Adams. He finally obtains the evidence he needs and with Kit's help escapes a trap set by Luke. He guns down Luke and his henchman and goes off to clear his name while Kit awaits his return. This movie was produced by MCR productions in which Audie Murphy had 1/3 ownership.
