Summary: In 1880, four escaped convicts, played by Vic Morrow, Lee Van Cleef, Henry Wills, and Charles Horvath escape death row and ride into the the quiet town of Paradise and begin terrorizing it. The criminals kill marshall Sheriff Webb, played by Ward Ramsey, while taking ten other men hostage and then killing most of them. The bank is then robbed and the bandits flee with a woman hostage, played by Zohra Lampert. Banner Cole, played by Audie Murphy, decides to step into the shoes of the dead marshall and hunt the murderers down with the help of the local townsmen who quickly change their minds and run from the job at hand. With the help of only one man, John Saxon, the killers are tracked down and are eliminated only after a heavy price is paid.
