The countries of Sierra Leone (1991), Guyana (1993 and 1997), and Nevis
(1995), have already issued commemorative stamps in honor of Audie L. Murphy. The
stamp above is from Sierra Leone located on the west coast of Africa. These
countries have discovered that a very large part of their annual fiscal budget
can be collected from stamp sales ... primarilly to US collectors. They
are very successful in their stamp sales for a very fundamental economic
reason. These nations have developed and marketed a product that is
strongly desired by the consumer.

To the left is a 1995 Commemorative Stamp sheet from the country of Nevis. The
second stamp from the left on the top row is the stamp commemorating Audie Murphy.
Also depicted are Clark Gable, Glenn Miller, Joe Louis, Jimmy Doolittle,
John Hersey, John F. Kennedy, and Jimmy Stewart.

To the right is the 1997 World War II on the Silverscreen commemorative stamp sheet
issued by the South American country of Guyana. Audie Murphy is depicted in
the stamp on the top right corner of the sheet. Other actors depicted
include Burgess Meredith, Gary Cooper, James Mason, Robert Taylor, and
John Garfield.
