Thank you for your recent letter through the Internet. I appreciate your getting in touch with me about a commemorative stamp for Audie Murphy.

I certainly agree with you that Audie Murphy was a great Texan and American. The process for getting a commemorative stamp begins with a nomination for the stamp by the Citizen's Stamp Advisory [Committee]. The United States Congress does not choose which stamps will be designated as commemoratives. However, if a vote came before the House for an Audie Murphy commemorative stamp, I would support it.
