If you could put out stamps for cartoon characters and movie monsters, why
can't you honor a true American hero with a stamp?

I think it is absolutely pathetic that the United States Postal Service has
honored drug addicts like Marilyn Monroe and Elvis with postage stamps but has
neglected to honor the most highly decorated combat soldier in our history.

Mr. Postmaster General, I like Buggs and Elvis, but they merely entertained
me. AUDIE MURPHY put his life on the line for not only his comrades but for
you and I alike. Please remember that least we forget!!!!

Audie Murphy is certainly deserving of a stamp series.
He is a true American hero. I am currently familiarizing my
son with Audie's heroism. Others should also be familiarized
through a stamp series.

The reason I feel Audie Murphy deserves this commemoration is that he truly
was an important person in the history of the United States. His courage and
humility should be revered and respected by the generations yet to come. He
should always be remembered; strong men are hard to find today!
