Gary Wade, Civil Servant Heath, Ohio Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
J. Gary Wagner, Retired Air Force Arlington, Virginia I urge you to approve honoring Audie Murphy with a series of postage stamps or, at a minimum, a single commemorative stamp.
John C. Waite, White Collar Worker Golden, Colorado Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Caroline A. Walker, Educator Mount Airy, North Carolina Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Jaime Walker Nesco, New Jersey Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
John E. Walker, Citizen Friendsville, Tennessee Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.

Stephen M. Walker, Veteran Wingate, North Carolina Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Tommie Townsend Walker, Citizen Hickory, North Carolina Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
James D. Walles Sandy, Utah Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Ray Walters, Citizen Ocean City, New Jersey Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
SFC Gary Ward, Active Army Fort Jackson, South Carolina We ask that Audie Leon Murphy be honored with an entire stamp series. Thank you in advance.
Robert E. Ward, Sr. Altamonte Springs, Florida I believe he should be honored for his courage and service to the country during WWII and to his other contributions to this country.
Paul Wargo, 10th Grade Student Bridgeport, Connecticut I think it is a very good idea to make an Audie Murphy stamp series because I know that I'd buy it.
Sam Warner, Civil Servant Leominster, Massachusetts There are so few genuine heroes today. Mr. Murphy's memory would certainly be honored on a stamp.
George R. (Russ) Warren, War Veteran Copperas Cove, Texas Audie Murphy epitomizes the American citizen -- proud to be an American and willing to defend the nation in times of conflict. He is probably one of the best role models and heroes for Americans. His life and actions were straight forward and honest rather than oblique and controversial. He is truly deserving of this great honor.
Howard A. Washburn Kent, Washington This is a "no-brainer". Audie Murphy should have already have had a commemorative stamp by now!
Nancy L. Waterman, Fan Forestville, New York Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
E. Stephen Waters, Civil Servant Perry, Georgia I am ashamed that this country has not honored Mr. Audie L. Murphy with a commemorative series. Why can't this be done? He was a hero and he symbolizes just what "America" stands for ... Freedom and Patriotism. A true American hero.
Douglas A. Watson Mount Clemens, Michigan Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
CW5 Arleen L. Wattel; Reservist, Armed Forces ????, California I am in favor of the commemorative stamp for Audie Murphy, our deserving war hero from WWII. It is unfortunate that it will be granted posthumously, if it is granted at all.
Linda Watts, Citizen Keyser, West Virginia Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Tanny E. Watts, Fan Dayton, Ohio I think that Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Steave Wayman, Professional Dallas, Texas Audie Murphy is deserving to have a stamp in his memory.
Bruce A. Wayne Knoxville, Tennessee Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Eric Michael O. Weathers, Retired Navy Coos Bay, Oregon This great American hero should be honored with an entire stamp series. Let's not forget our heroes!
Beth Ann Webber, Citizen Columbus, Indiana For the service to his country, and his love for it, Audie Murphy is long overdue for a commemorative stamp. Please see that this happens as soon as possible. Thank you.
Francis R. Weber, Jr. Elkridge, Maryland If Bugs Bunny gets the honor of a stamp, I sure think that a real American hero of Audie Murphy's stature should be a no brainer!
Richard Weil, Teacher St. Paul, Minnesota We need to remember our real heroes.
Edward Weiss Hummelstown, Pennsylvania I think that one of the greatest soldiers deserves special recognition. For the gallant efforts he made for himself and his fellow comrades Audie deserves this honor.
James Franklin Welch, Disabled Vet Federal Way, Washington There are many who have honored our country by their service and deserve recognition. However, none have done more. This man was a childhood hero of mine and many others of my generation. He should be remembered for his uncommon valor. A country without true heroes is not much of a country.
Patsy Weldon & Ray Burns Grand Prairie, Texas Audie not only received the Medal of Honor, but all of the medals the U.S. gives. Also many given by other countries! This makes him the MOST decorated military service member there is. A stamp honoring this fete should have taken place many years ago. He did make a difference in history and should be recognized, much more than some that have a stamp honoring them!!! We have been amazed by the number of people that were touched by Audie. People now realize he did what he had to do and did it because he loved his country and wanted to serve it and did very well. Young people should be shown that being loyal to your country is a worthwhile effort.
Christopher L. Welsh, Teacher Houston, Texas Audie Murphy is an inspiration to everyone who may feel like an underdog. He proves that anyone can achieve greatness. He may be the bravest man to ever live ... beats Elvis!!!
Joshua T. Westfall Ft. Campbell, Kentucky I think Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Katherine B. Westgate Savannah, Georgia America lacks real heroes and role models that we can all be proud of. Audie Murphy was a true American hero willing to give his life for his country.
Tony Wewer, Veteran Gaithersburg, Maryland Here was a man who did more for his country than Elvis Presley ever did. Who is the joke on when an animated cartoon character is honored and a real hero is not. Certainly profit is not your only consideration.
Barbara Ann Wezler, Fan Dayton, Ohio I think that Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Mark Whaley, Veteran Fayetteville, North Carolina Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Charles Whitaker, Veteran Farmersville, Texas I find it disburbing that our National Postal Service would honor Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny with a commemorative stamp but refuse to honor the most decorated war hero in our nation's history.
Brian A. White, Citizen Hemet, California Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Daniel E. White, Active Army (Not Given) Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Robert A. White Columbia, South Carolina Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Clay Whitehead, Student, College McLean, Virginia It is a disgrace that America is enjoying this era of unprecedented prosperity without recognizing the heroes who made our fortune possible. People who serve in the Armed Forces deserve all of the recognition that they can get, and it is the duty of all citizens and their government to give them their due respect. To overlook this duty is to spit in the face of all of those who have brought us to this moment. As Postmaster, you command great responsibilities. Use your power to do the right and honorable thing: commemorate Audie Murphy and other heroes like him.
Karen Whitehead, Citizen Celeste, Texas Audie Murphy is a genuine American hero. He surely should be honored for such service to his country. Our military heroes should be worthy of the honor of appearing on a stamp as much as cartoon characters, singers, or Hollywood actors. Military heroes are usually reluctant to broadcast their deeds and they certainly don't have publicists. But this country owes a debt of honor to Audie Murphy and others of his generation. It would be a wonderful thing to see him on a U.S. stamp.
Richard Whitely Wheelersburg, Ohio Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Mr. Alan F. Whiting Harvey, Louisiana Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Allen Whitley, Citizen Austin, Texas Recognition of Mr. Murphy on a commemorative stamp may result in renewed interest of this deserving American. His life, particularly his impoverished beginnings, can serve as a reminder and inspiration to all who seek to better themselves through hard work and sacrifice.
Gregory Whitlow, War Veteran Chattaroy, West Virginia I think Audie Murphy's memory and dees should be kept alive for future generations.
Rodney C. Wilbert, Citizen Elizabethville, Pennsylvania The integrity and honor of Audie Murphy deserves to given the right to have a stamp issued in his honor for being the greatest representative of all the fighting men and women this great country has ever had. I for one have never served in the Armed Forces but will regret that decision for the rest of my life. As a child, I remember watching his movies on TV and admired and respected him without even knowing he was in fact a real American Hero. Imagine just for one minute how proud I felt when I found out just a few years ago that this man who I looked up to, thinking he was just an actor, turns out to be a Hero. "WOW" I could not believe it.

My heart ached with pride, the pride of knowing that a simple country boy could do the things he had done, and the way his memory will forever represent the Honor, Glory, and Valor of the greatest country on the face of the earth. The pride in thinking that one day my children will look upon him as a great American Hero, the pride in hoping that his memory and the message of his bravery and honor to all Americans will be forever recorded by the issuing of a stamp in his honor. We at least owe him that much.
George Wilbon, Retired Marine Corps Sylvester, Georgia With everything else they put on stamps now, Audie Murphy is a lot more deserving in my opinion.
Debbie Wilcox, Professional APO AP (Japan) Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Carol Wildasin, Citizen Hanover, Pennsylvania Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
William V. Wilkes, Retired Army Gaithersburg, Maryland Audie Murphy is the kind of guy that you want your kids to look up to. He's the classic hero. He made something of himself despite coming from a poor family. He served his country and his buddies at the risk of life.

He's not the only one, but apparently, he did it better than most. Those colored ribbons don't come cheap. I think he's worth a 33 cent stamp.
Scott L. Willhite, White Collar Worker Houston, Texas There is no single name I remember hearing my father utter more as a child growing up than Audie Murphy. He was a role model for an entire generation of patriots. I believe he should be on a commemorative stamp ... and probably on a monument somewhere.
Ben Williams, War Veteran Las Vegas, Nevada If Audie Murphy doesn't deserve a stamp, then who does?
Gerald E. Williams Las Vegas, Nevada A true American Hero who should never be forgotten by the younger generations.
Greg Williams, Professional Memphis, Tennessee Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Joan C. Williams (Not Given) Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Robert Williams, White Collar Worker Chillicothe, Ohio There have been a lot of famous Americans honored with less achievements than Audie Murphy. Audie Murphy deserves to be on a stamp series for what he did for his country, as he was the most decorated soldier of all time. I cannot think of any American that is more deserving than Audie Murphy, as he earned the right to be on a commemorative stamp or stamp series.
Bobby Williamson, White Collar Worker Lawton, Oklahoma Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Thomas William Willingham; Professional Littleton, Colorado Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Larryann Willis, Lawyer Santa Clarita, California I mailed in my WRITE IN vote on your form for an Audie Murphy stamp. I felt that the form was designed to perpetuate your own ideas in that with the exception of a couple of categories you gave the people silly choices. That wasn't a "vote". That was a manipulation designed to make people believe you were listening when you AREN'T! All you want to do is sell Bugs Bunny stamps to kids who collect stamps when you should be using stamps as an opportunity to teach children a valuable American History lesson. Why don't you listen to the 30,000 people who have contacted you requesting an Audie Murphy Stamp???
Porter Willis Santa Clarita, California Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Carol Williams, Educator Smithville, Tennessee Audie Murphy was a REAL hero. He should be honored with a stamp series for his efforts and honors in World War II. He served our country well and should be remembered this way.
Scott B. Williams, War Veteran Lawrenceville, Georgia Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Henry B. Williamson, Fan West Carrolton, Ohio I think that Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Porter Willis Santa Clarita, California Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Charles O. Wilson, Sr., Disabled Vet Garland, Tennessee As you know, I am 100% disabled but will be willing to help where I can.
Kenneth L. Wilson, Fan Redmond, Washington A truly great man.
Wayne T. Wilson, Retired Army Stigler, Oklahoma I strongly urge that a stamp be issued honoring Audie Murphy. He was a brave and honorable soldier who represents those of us from the small towns in America who served in the Armed Forces in the defense of their country.
Kristen Noelle Winer, Student, College Tempe, Arizona Audie Murphy was a great hero, patriot, and warrior. He deserves to be remembered with a stamp series.
John Winters, Veteran Ironton, Ohio Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Walter Witkowski, Citizen Kingston, New York Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Mark Wokasch, Active Army Harker Heights, Texas Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
David Wolbach, Veteran Pompton Lakes, New Jersey From what I can see these youngsters seem to excel in combat. I don't think we have any true heroes around today.
Bob Woodall, Citizen Houston, Texas Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Barbara Woodard, Citizen Louisville, Mississippi Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Joseph D. Woodruff, Jr.; Citizen Richmond, Texas Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Faye I. Woods, Veteran Rio Rancho, New Mexico Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Paul Woods Laurel, Maryland Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
SSG Bobby Wooldridge, Active Army Fayetteville, North Carolina Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Tanya Wortham, Fan Mexico, Missouri Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Robert C. Worthy, Veteran St. Louis, Missouri The absolute epitome of an American Hero! Why the delay? How could you not have an Audie Murphy series?
Indi Wray Peterborough, Ontario; Canada Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
John D. Wright (Not Given) Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Scott Wright, National Guard ????, Idaho Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
