It is in keeping with America's high standards in governmental agencies
that it is only proper that Audie Murphy should be honored with a stamp.
This would indicate to the people that what Murphy did in WWII is celebrated
by all government agencies beyond soley the military and congress. Thank
you for your time.

We need a hero. There was never a better definition of the word than
Audie Murphy. Please honor his memory and those of all veterans with a
stamp.

If one should ask the question, "What is more important, risking one's
life while defending one's country and saving the lives of comrades in
combat, or earning millions of dollars?" Any fair-minded person would
have to conclude that Mr. Murphy is far more deserving of a whole series
of stamps than Mr. Presley was for a commemorative stamp.

As an educator, I feel it is of the utmost importance that we teach our
children of true bravery. Audie Murphy represents everything good and
true about our US military as well as to what cost each veteran pays who
serves his/her nation. Please seriously consider this stamp collection.
Audie deserves it as much as Elvis did!

Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Elvis Presley, Babe Ruth, etc. etc. etc. All
have their own stamps ... What's wrong with this??? Yes, we need to
petition to honor America's greatest war hero with a stamp of his own???

I think that the Audie Murphy stamp would be a commercial success but
even if it was not, the post office has made over a billion in profit
and the post office is still raising the price of stamps. You could
afford a little loss to honor an American Hero.

Anyone who has done so much for our country deserves to be recognized
and most definitely should be honored with a commemorative stamp. What
has Bugs Bunny ever done for us? Our vote is a definite yes!!!!

I have always been interested in the history of the Second World War, and
of Audie Murphy in particular. If anyone deserves to be honored on a
stamp, it is Audie Murphy. Lesser people have been honored as such.
Audie Murphy is a true American hero, and there probably never has been
a better one.

As a postal worker I think that Audie Murphy should be honored with an
entire stamp series. He put his life on the line for the rest of us and
he was the most decorated soldier in WWII. For that reason he should be
honored with a stamp depicting his life as a soldier and as a movie star.
Please give this the utmost urgency before you retire.

Our country has honored other "great" Americans in the past such as Elvis,
Madonna, and who can forget Bugs Bunny. Don't you think we should have
a series for the real heroes without who we might not have the right to
request anything and if we did it would be in German?

Audie L. Murphy was one of the greatest heroes this country has ever
known. Any freedoms we enjoy today are the result of the likes of Audie ---
men who put away their fear and tood on an enemy, no matter how great, to
try and guarantee that we as Americans could live in a free country
forevermore. There has never been a more courageous man in the history
of our great nation than Audie L. Murphy.

Historically, countries have honored their outstanding citizens by putting
their likenesses on postage stamps. Honorees thus recognized have
included statesmen, explorers, scientists, and the like. Why this country's
most-decorated hero, Audie Murphy, has not been accorded this honor in an
obvious oversight - especially when Bugs Bunny has! Thank you.

So many today know so very little of our past wars or the ordinary men
who performed extraordinary tasks in meeting the challenges presented to
them. As Americans, it is our duty and honored responsibility to see
that these individuals are not forgotten ... that the freedoms they helped
to achieve ... are not taken for granted and that the patriotism, selflessness
and pride in our country demonstrated by individuals such as Audie L. Murphy ...
not go unrecognized.
