I can't think of a more appropriate American than Audie Murphy to
receive this honor. His achievements as a young soldier during World
War II should be known to all Americans and such an honor in his memory
would do us all a lot of good. Much thanks.

With the present morality and so many foreigners wanting to tear down
the most wonderful country in the world, we need to get this man's
background out to the public. Then set up a foundation with free tickets
to several poor countries. This will bring people out of the woodwork
to let them see how good we have it here and why so many men were willing
to die to keep it.

Without the heroism of men like Audie Murphy you would not have the
cartoon characters to put on silly stamps because you would not have the
freedom of choice to do so.

If any American deserves to have a stamp honoring them it must be Audie
Murphy. I am not in the minority in this believe as evidence by the fact
that Audie Murphy's grave at Arlington is visited by so many exceeded
only by the tomb of J.F.K. Thank you for your consideration in this very
important matter.

Audie Murphy was not only a true American hero, but, during the fifties
when I was a kid, he was a cultural icon. I spent many a Saturday afternoon
watching his Westerns. No, Audie Murphy is less well known than Bugs
Bunny, but he is just as well known as many of the obscure figures honored
on United States stamps in recent years. Thanks.

A commemorative stamp series would be ideal if it would include EVERYONE
who received the medal of Honor. They did not ask for the medal, they
did not WIN the medal. Their country expected nothing less and they gave
what was demanded and more! So why have these brave men not been recognized
in the one way that will show America that they have not been forgotten. A
series of stamps.

I can't believe you won't issue a stamp collection of Audie L. Murphy!
When people think of a war hero, they think of John Wayne and
unfortunately Audie Murphy is forgotten. For he was a TRUE war hero
and was a great person as a soldier and citizen!! It is a tragic shame
that such a great person can be forgotten by few; however, I am not one
of them. An Audie Murphy stamp collection is well over due.

Audie Murphy is one of the great heroes of U.S. history, not only in his
military career but also his personal life. He deserves to be recognized

As the son of a WWII veteran, I feel compelled to write this request to
consider creating a stamp series in honor of the late Audie Murphy. His
contribution and sacrifice during WWII is a tribute to the TRUE American

served in the military to not honor this man. Please consider carefully
my request and the no doubt countless requests of many others.

The ignoring of honoring Audie Murphy by not issuing a stamp series is
absolutely absurd. I for one HATE to see/use stamps of movie stars,

stamp. ONLY people, places, and events related to OUR history should be
honored ... and the argument that movie stars, singers, cartoon characters,
etc. are ... is ludicrous!

AUDIE MURPHY SHOULD BE HONORED WITH AN ENTIRE STAMP SERIES. He is a MAN
that well deserves recognition. It is so embarrassing to have a stamp out
for Bugs Bunny while ignoring a HERO. Not only is he known in our
country (USA), he is also known in other countries. In the Phillippines,
as a very young girl, I was first introduced to him by my father through
his movies and later learned more about Lt. Murphy. I have taken the
time to educate my children about Audie Murphy. Bugs Bunny, they enjoy
on saturday mornings when they were children. My thoughts to you ......

Audie Murphy reflects what is buried deep within all Americans: a
greatness brought forth by terrible circumstances. In an era where
TRUE heroes are at a minimum and so desparately needed, its time that
some were recognized and remembered, even if only one a simple postage
stamp. Americans can be proud of such men as Major Audie Murphy and he
