George B. Haack, Movie Fan Cherokee Village, Arkansas PLEASE!!! This honor is long past due. I feel it is now time to honor this fine World War II hero. You can make this possible. Please do so. Thank you very much.
James M. Hackney, War Veteran Garland, Texas As a veteran of Vietnam, I can personally relate to the heroic acts of this great American. Audie was also my father's best childhood friend. My family has always regarded Audie, and his family, as part of our own. I think it is way overdue that the government honor him and his family with a memorial stamp. I urge you to give this request careful consideration and remember the next time you see the Old Glory flying, that this great American laid his life on the line to keep her flying. Thank you for your consideration of this matter.
Rod E. Hain Millersburg, Pennsylvania Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Michael W. Hale, Active Army Fort Hood, Texas Audie Murphy is an excellent role model and an inspiration to all whom served in the Armed Forces of the United States.
Albert R. Hall, War Veteran Pittsboro, Indiana Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Amber Hall, 7th Grade Student Rome, Pennsylvania Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Ashley Hall, 7th Grade Student Rome, Pennsylvania Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Christopher Hall, Blue Collar Worker Sanford, Florida I'm a big Elvis fan but I would have to say that Audie L. Murphy deserves to be on a stamp more than Elvis, and I know he did more than Bugs Bunny ever did. It's a shame I even have to write you to ask to have Mr. Murphy honored with a stamp.
Amber Hall, 2d Grade Student Rome, Pennsylvania Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
George P. Hall, Retiree Cochecton, New York With all of the frivolous things that I have seen on US Postage Stamps how can you NOT do one for a true American hero.
Steven R. Hall, Veteran Rome, Pennsylvania Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Teresa J. Hall, Citizen Rome, Pennsylvania Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Tobey Carol Hall, Educator Leesburg, Virginia I am an ordinary American who wishes that extraordinary Americans would be made more obvious in our lives. We need heroes!
Sandra J. Hallawell, Fan Frankfort, Kentucky I love Elvis. But did he ever save lives like Audie Murphy? Yet he has his own stamp and so do other movie stars. I grew up watching old movies with my mother and she could talk about audie Murphy for hours. So you have at least two generations who love him. Now help educate my daughter's (15) generation so they will know what a real hero is. He's pretty impressive next to the heroes of today, such as rap and sports "stars". My daughter is a minor stamp collector, and this is one series I wouldn't mind spending my money for.
D.D. Halstead St. Johns, Michigan I think its about time for this!
Stephanie Halstead, Student 5th Grade St. Johns, Michigan Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Dorothy Hamm Euless, Texas I spoke with a reporter for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Fort Worth's only newspaper, and when I mentioned that Audie Murphy had often visited our area while he was living, she didn't know who he was. She had never heard of his war record nor his movies or songs. This makes me very sad to think that the news media, the people who help shape public awareness, have not heard of this quiet spoken, simple farm boy, who was a giant among men.

Please honor this all-American hero with a series of stamps. Please do it for the sons who have fought to keep America free. Please do it for all of us who enjoy the freedom that men like Audie Murphy earned for us. He was a great soldier. He was a great American. Help us make sure future generations know this.

If Marilyn Monroe can be honored with a stamp, I would think surely Audie Murphy would be as worthy of a stamp.
Franklin D. Handy, Disabled Vet Connersville, Indiana It is important to this nation that we do all that is possible to keep the heroes ever present in the hearts and minds of our citizens, both young and old. I would think this man would be up front when it comes to this type of recognition. JUST DO IT.
Christopher J. Haney, Professional Holland, Pennsylvania I called C-SPAN on Jan 1, 1998 when Mr. Azeezaly Jaffer was on and asked why there is such resistance to an Audie Murphy series of stamps. He told me on C-SPAN that you are still considering Mr. Murphy. I hope you right this wrong very soon. Thank you.
Scott Hann, Veteran Indianapolis, Indiana I am a Veteran of the US Army and the 1st Battalion, 15th Infantry, Murphy's unit in WWII, and I served in the 80s. Murphy went above the call of duty, and represented the ordinary soldier in the war.
Frank L. Hannigan, Veteran Milmont Park, Pennsylvania If cartoon characters and rock stars are worthy of individual commemorative stamps, then Mr. Murphy who served this country in an exemplary fashion should warrant no less!
Michael P. Harden, Veteran Vienna, Virginia There is no greater hero in American History than Audie Murphy. If he doesn't deserve a stamp in his honor, then who would? If cartoon characters and Elvis can be on the United States postage stamps, then it is a travesty to not include a man who made such a contribution to this country through his bravery and personal sacrifice. You must honor his memory.
Gary Ran Harding, Sr., Fan Odessa, Texas This is a great, great, great man and he should have his own entire stamp series. If he does not get one, then something is wrong here in this great country of ours.
Vincent Hargadon, Veteran Morrisville, Pennsylvania Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Jerry Harlow Catonsville, Maryland Give up on the Mickey Mouse stamps you've been passing off as U.S. postage and get back to honoring the true heroes of our land.
Judith A. Harnum, Blue Collar Worker Port Charlotte, Florida Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Brad Harrell, Student 11th Grade Granbury, Texas Audie Murphy is a great American hero and he deserves some sort of recognition like every other American hero receives. My mother has taught me a lot about Mr. Murphy in the past and I think he really deserves to be honored in this way. Thank you.
Beth Harrelson, Citizen Billings, Montana Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Donald M. Harrelson III, Professional Glen Burnie, Maryland Honor our heroes!!
Wm & Teresa Harrington, Active Army Copperas Cove, Texas Actors have 'um. Why not the greatest soldier who ever lived? For his undying love and dedication to our country, this is a small token of our appreciation to him. If you don't it will be a humiliating blow to people who have served in the military. Thank you.
Beth Harris Jefferson City, Missouri Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Mr. & Mrs. Garnett Harris, Jr. Austin, Texas Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
James Harton, Student ????, Illinois I am a great supporter of the late Audie Murphy. In school, I am doing a project on him and I was at the Post Office and thought "Why isn't there an Audie Murphy stamp set?" He is a great hero to people of all ages. I wish to see him commemorated by a stamp.
Frank W. Hastings Palm, Pennsylvania Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Donald P. Hateley, Lawyer Los Angeles, California Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Christy Hatfield, College Student Winter Park, Florida Audie Murphy was the main reason that the U.S. won World War II so he should be commemorated for his bravery and courage especially since he was about 17 or 18 years old.
Tressa Hawkins Tyler, Texas I am almost 40 years old. My father introduced me to who Audie L. Murphy was. I just got through watching TO HELL AND BACK. Did you know that Audie's picture is hanging in the Texas State Capitol as the most decorated soldier in World War II? I have introduced my daughter to Audie as well. I firmly believe he should have been on a postage stamp. Thank God for his life!!!
W. E. "Gene" Hayes, White Collar Worker Huntington, West Virginia Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
James Hays, Veteran El Paso, Texas Lesser Americans have been honored on stamps and Audie Murphy is an American deserving of this country's final honor to his memory, being pictured on an American Commemorative Stamp.
Richard Heath Sheridan, Indiana Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Rich Heller, Citizen Hanover Park, Illinois Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
William E. Hendricks, Veteran Grafton, Illinois Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Gary D. Henry, War Veteran Stockton, California As a stamp collector and a Vietnam Veteran I believe Audie Murphy deserves the honor of his own stamp series. He has earned it.
Michelle Henry, Student, College Stockton, California I am the daughter of a Vietnam veteran. After realizing what my dad went through every day for two years I believe that not only should Audie Murphy get his own stamp series but my father as well. He may not have had as many medals as Murphy but he fought in the war and protected his country. In my eyes he is just as much a hero as Murphy.
Larry Hensley, Citizen Annandale, Virginia Audie Murphy was a hero in the truest sense of the word. I have heard of others being considered for such an honor that don't hold a candle to Audie. Please consider Audie.
James E. Herrmann, Blue Collar Worker Hebron, Kentucky I am a US Army veteran and it disturbs me that this country will put a rabbit on a stamp and will not honor the most decorated war veteran with a commemorative stamp. I hope that in the near future this will be accomplished.
James Hermes Falls Church, Virginia Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Leland G. Herren, War Veteran Manteca, California A true American hero. What's the holdup honoring this man! A real Rambo, not a fictional character who has never seen the inside of hell. Please don't deny this any longer as a vet and as one of a fast fading generation who remembers Audie Murphy. I ask you to move forward on this soon.
Troy Herrera (Not Given) Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Michael S. Herring, Educator Sanford, Florida Give this distinguished war hero the recognition that he deserves.
Forest B. Herron, War Veteran Belington, West Virginia Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Gatha M. Herron, Senior Citizen Belington, West Virginia Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Kenneth J. Heselwood, Police Officer Bruxelles, Belgium Thank you in advance to include Audie Murphy in the next stamp series.
Megan Hewett, 10th Grade Student Council Bluffs, Iowa Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Kay Hicks Indianapolis, Indiana Please make this a priority in selection of the next stamp to appear!!
Gary Higgins, War Veteran Herlong, California Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Jerry Highill, Retired Army Randleman, North Carolina Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Robert F. Hill, Professional Rocky Mount, North Carolina Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Leslie Himmel, Citizen (Not Given) Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Rick Hindman, White Collar Worker Garland, Texas If Bugs Bunny, Elvis, and a whole host of inane personalities can be placed on a postage stamp, what does it take to commemorate Audie Murphy? Are you familiar with his wartime record? In fact, I'd like to see stamps commemorating all Medal of Honor recipients.
Walter H. Hobbs, Retiree Acampo, California Why do other countries honor Audie Murphy and yet his own country does not and will not to this date? Let's do something about this injustice to our own WWII hero.
Tim Hoeflich, National Guard Cincinnati, Ohio Enough of the "politically correct" crap! It is apparent by looking at the brief list of CMOH recipients who have made it on a stamp that some folks are a little squeemish with honoring a war hero who actually killed people with their bare hands. Quit the hand-ringing, and honor someone who paid the price for YOUR freedom!
Nancy Liza Hoffrichter San Diego, California He is one of the most decorated soldiers of all time and if anything he should have his own stamp. Elvis was only a singer compared to Audie Murphy. Instead of teddy bears or hearts which are cute of course why not give something back to a soldier who has done a lot for his country and for us to be free.
Jimmy Holcomb, Citizen Irving, Texas Audie should be honored before this bunch ofwimps in the white house honors one of their buddies. At least he fought for our country. He wasn't a coward.
Robert O. Hollis, Police Officer Sandusky, Ohio We need heroes. We have forgotten most of them. This man was a true hero because he did what others could not do yet felt the pain that resulted from being subjected to personal combat. The man was common stock, the type that built this country and the type that is in short supply. It pains me to know that he is not known by our youth.
Judd F. Hollister, Veteran Tracy, California Surely an American of this stature deserves the same treatment that the Postal Service has accorded other outstanding citizens. We haven't had many veterans so honored. Audie Murphy would be a fine addition.
Billy D. Hollaway, Retired Navy N. Little Rock, Arkansas We have waited too many years to honor this man with the exception of his military record. He is not only a military hero but many people in my generation looked up to him as a great film star. Please exert your full influence on this matter. Thanks.
Charles Denson Holloway, Jr., War Veteran Spring, Texas Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Walter E. Holt, Veteran Lawton, Oklahoma Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Brian L. Honekman Orange Park, Florida We've had commemorative stamps to honor just about everything and everyone, including cartoon characters. Its high time recognition was paid to one of our countries greatest heroes. This is long overdue!
Craig Honhorst, Retired Air Force Ruther Glen, Virginia Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Richard N. Hooper, Civil Servant Burke, Virginia Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Everett Horbert, War Veteran Newport Richey, Florida Audie Murphy should have a series of stamps in his honor. This man was a true American and sure deserves to be remembered. The most decorated soldier is a great accomplishment and sure should be recognized. The younger Americans should know of this man. Don't let him be forgotten.
Frank W. Hose, War Veteran Stockton, California Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
F. J. Horne, Retiree Lubbock, Texas Beats Mickey Mouse.
John Houseman, Retired Marine Corps Orange, Texas We should have done this before now. It is most urgent that we do it now for certain. Our children of this generation need to know who Audie Murphy was and what he did for our country. Please set upon a mission to make an entire stamp series of Audie Murphy.
Kenneth Howard, Veteran Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series. Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Gene Howe, Citizen Springboro, Ohio Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Rob Hubbard (Not Given) Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Louis D. Hubshman Lyamsville, Maryland Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Matthew L. Hudson, Citizen Greenfield, Indiana Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Dan Huffaker, War Veteran Woodlands, Texas If you do not honor Audie Murphy with a series of stamps, you should just stop honoring anyone becaue he was and is the greatest American Hero as of this date.
Troy Huffines, Police Officer Nashville, Tennessee Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Charles C. Huffstetler, National Guard Bartlett, Tennessee I think it is a real shame that we honor animal and movie cartoons but not a real American hero and patriot like Lt. Murphy. As a citizen soldier, I think his stamp would be a great reminder to today's citizens that their freedom came at great cost by individuals not unlike themselves.
Frank Hummel Stockton, California Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Jason C. Huskey, Veteran Geneseo, Kansas It would be an awful shame not to honor the memory of one of our country's finest patriots, and most courageous heroes with an entire stamp series.
David E. Huskins, Veteran Carthage, North Carolina Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Marion C. Huss Halifax, Pennsylvania Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Sena K. Huston Portland, Oregon Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Kitty Hutchinson, Civil Servant Clinton, Maryland I guess most of us have forgotten what the winning of WWII meant. It's difficult to believe we've issued commemorative stamps in honor of singers, actors (good and bad), and cartoon characters, yet, in all these years we have never bestowed such an honor on Audie Murphy. I believe its time we rectified our mistake. In these times, I think we'd be hard pressed to find a hero of this caliber. Perhaps it would help our people to see what a real hero is.
