Let's recognize a true hero, Audie Murphy, with an entire stamp series.
WWII's most decorated hero deserves this recognition. Our children need
to know about this remarkable man. Please let his memory live with a
stamp series.

Stamps should commemorate outstanding individuals and memorable events. I
can't think of any American more outstanding and whose actions were more
memorable. A stamp issued in honor of Audie Murphy is the right thing to
do.

I would think than a real American hero would be shown more respect than
a dumb cartoon character. But due to the fact that our President never
spent a second in the military and showed how much character he really
had by "RUNNING" away from his duty, it does not surprise me you have
made this decision because it finally shows how much of a coward both
you and our commander-in-chief really are.

I cannot believe that we put Marilyn Monroe, Elvis, and Bugs Bunny on
stamps and not a great American war hero like Audie Murphy.

I believe that Audie Murphy deserves a stamp. If Marilyn Monroe can get
one, why not Mr. Murphy. I don't think supporters of this petition are
requesting that you make a great sacrifice by giving him a stamp. Audie's
stamp would represent all Medal of Honor winners and all true heroes of
war, the dead. These people made great sacrifices for this country.
Some gave all they could give, their lives. Audie's stamp would show all
Americans and all the world that the U.S. government honors and respects
the men who have stood by her in her hour of crisis. This is the right
thing to do.

No true American doubts that Audie Murphy was a hero. I can think of no
finer tribute to this fine man, than to have him honored on a commemorative
stamp. After all, the postal service is first and foremost interested
in the profit margin. Audie is still looked up to by a great many
Americans and I am sure that an "Audie Murphy" stamp will generate a
great deal of sales. Please consider putting this fine American hero on
a stamp. After all, if Elvis and M. Monroe can have their own stamp,
isn't it only fitting that this hero should have one?

Audie Murphy is a US and world hero. He should be honored with a stamp,
as a minimum, for this soldier's outstanding service to his country. He
is the most highly decorated hero for bravery in US history. It is a
terrible disservice that this man is not honored with a stamp. Many,
many people, of very far less magnitude, have been honored with a stamp.
Many of these people are not anywhere near the superb caliber of Audie
Murphy. I know the stamp issue has been going on for at least five years
and it is a sad state of affairs when a national hero cannot receive
recognition with a stamp. Audie deserves nothing less. We as a nation
owe this to Audie Murphy, to honor him, and in doing so we will honor
service members that have served throughout our history as a nation, that
have so honorably served this great nation of ours. This is an easy fix
and should be done most expeditiously.

Audie Murphy was the most decorated soldier of WWII. Since we recognize
movie stars, entertainers, cartoon characters, etc., I think it only fitting
that we should honor a real war hero also. There are hundreds of thousands
of veterans who would also be honored if one of their comrades were so
honored. As a retired USAF Chief Master Sergeant with 30 years military
service, I request you consider my petition for an Audie Murphy Stamp
Series.

If our nation's most honored and decorated hero of WWII is not worthy of
being represented on a US Stamp, then no one else should be. Just issue
stamps with the US Flag (unless of course that doesn't meet your criteria.)

I find it hard to believe that being the greatest nation on earth that
we cannot for some odd reason honor a 100% war hero like Audie Murphy.
On the other hand, considering our commander-and-chief, its not too hard
to see the country's way of thinking.

Please see fit to honor such a man. Can it be we've lost all sense of
who our real heroes are or what constitutes heroism in these UNITED
STATES? He fought for his country and made quite a contribution to
these UNITED STATES during his lifetime. Thank you in advance for I
know you'll make the right decision. YES!!!

Its a shame when my child is doing a report on Audie Murphy and no one
knows about him, not his teachers, not the library, not even book stores.
Not to worry though. They have plenty on Hitler and other thugs. But I
guess in your eyes Hitler is far more important than Audie Murphy.

Audie Murphy was a great American hero, the last of a great line ... the
brave All-Americans. Not only was he a great actor, but he was also a
courageous WWII veteran. Many other famous people have gotten commemorative
stamps, such as Humphrey Bogart, and he wasn't half as brave as Audie
Murphy. Murph deserves a series not only for his acting, but for his
dedication to his country.

I don't think having the most decorated soldier ever, a Medal of Honor
recipient, honored on a simple postage stamp is too much to ask, do you?
After all, we have Marilyn Monroe - an actress, Elvis Presley - a singer,
Bugs Bunny - a cartoon rabbit, pretty flowers and all kinds of other ...
stuff. I don't have to tell you what are on the stamps today. But being
a simple, low rank soldier in service to our country, wounded in battle
while keeping this nation free so people would someday be able to honor
a cartoon character with a stamp, isn't good enough to get one of his
own, is that it? Did the stamp committee serve their country in any
way? Is the postmaster worthy of the title "General"? How about
honoring a simple country boy who became just another dogface serving
his country with a stamp? After all, he only earned our nation's
highest honor that can be bestowed on any soldier, not to mention all
the other decorations from this and other countries that felt he did a
good job too. But then I guess only those who care about history will
know this. Believe it or not kids collect stamps as well as adults.
But ask a kid, and even some adults, who Audie Murphy was and you'll
get a blank stare. Then ask them who Marily, Elvis and Bugs are. Do
you really think they learned of their existence by way of your stamps?
You have an opportunity to teach a little history here, even if it is
only on a stamp. Your response is welcome but not expected.
