Audie Murphy is my Great Uncle and I think that he should at least get a
stamp.

Today the media has invaded every facet of American life. America's heroes
have been reinterpretted through the blurred perspective of political
correctness. Now America's patriotic heroes are viewed as victimizers
of the environment, minorities, homosexuals, and women. America needs
to remember a hero who has fought bravely for his country.

The youth of this country knows nothing of the heroes of World War II.
By making a stamp at least maybe someone will remember in 50 years.

Robert E. Lee and Jefferson Davis each got their own stamp for leading a
revolt against the U.S. They indirectly killed more Americans than Tim
McVeigh. About 100 years later an army private got shot for deserting
his post. Now if you want to honor a real hero, you will make this stamp.

Is Bugs Bunny more important or is it just that Audie Murphy offers less
opportunity for merchandising?

It is disgraceful to be putting cartoon characters on a stamp when our
highest decorated World War II vet has yet to be honored.

It's time to take some action. Audie Murphy was not just a war hero. He
was also an actor and he deserves the same right to a stamp as Elvis and
Marilyn Monroe who never did anything to protect this country. Please
reconsider your decision. We owe men like Audie Murphy our freedom and
liberty. Without men like him we would be living in the dark ages right
now.

If Elvis Presley can be pictured on a stamp, who has done nothing for
the freedom of this country, then it would be a sin to pass by one of the
greatest war heroes this country has every known. Our young people need
this type of exposure.

Audie Murphy was a hero. I think the young need someone to look up to
and the late Audie Murphy would be a good example.

Why not ... A true American Hero. We do spend a lot of time with make
