Audie's List 1998 of Stamp Petitioners

Name Location Comments
Ben Fain, Citizen Canton, Texas Audie Murphy is my Great Uncle and I think that he should at least get a stamp.
Jeffrey Fairman Los Angeles, California Today the media has invaded every facet of American life. America's heroes have been reinterpretted through the blurred perspective of political correctness. Now America's patriotic heroes are viewed as victimizers of the environment, minorities, homosexuals, and women. America needs to remember a hero who has fought bravely for his country.
Charles A. Faison, War Veteran Newark, New Jersey This man should be honored as soon as possible.
Dewey Fambry, Retired Army The Colony, Texas The youth of this country knows nothing of the heroes of World War II. By making a stamp at least maybe someone will remember in 50 years.
Anthony A. Fasano Lock Haven, Pennsylvania Robert E. Lee and Jefferson Davis each got their own stamp for leading a revolt against the U.S. They indirectly killed more Americans than Tim McVeigh. About 100 years later an army private got shot for deserting his post. Now if you want to honor a real hero, you will make this stamp.
Bernard Wilson Fatig, War Veteran Glen Burnie, Maryland Where are your values? Out to lunch?
Tony Faville, Disabled Vet Galloway, Ohio Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Carole L. Ferguson, Citizen (Not Given) Is Bugs Bunny more important or is it just that Audie Murphy offers less opportunity for merchandising?
Mary Figert (Not Given) Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Kris Finkenbinder, Reservist Armed Forces Sitka, Alaska Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Paul Firnett San Pedro, California It is disgraceful to be putting cartoon characters on a stamp when our highest decorated World War II vet has yet to be honored.
Betty Fisher, Retiree York Haven, Pennsylvania It's time to take some action. Audie Murphy was not just a war hero. He was also an actor and he deserves the same right to a stamp as Elvis and Marilyn Monroe who never did anything to protect this country. Please reconsider your decision. We owe men like Audie Murphy our freedom and liberty. Without men like him we would be living in the dark ages right now.
Douglas G. Fisher, Retired Air Force Albuquerque, New Mexico If anyone deserves a commemoration, this man does. Do not forsake the true American hero.
Sondra K. Fisher, Educator Girard, Ohio Audie Murphy should be honored with on a commemorative stamp.
Bryan Flynn ????, Washington Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
David J. Flynn, Sr., Blue Collar Worker Orland Park, Illinois If Elvis Presley can be pictured on a stamp, who has done nothing for the freedom of this country, then it would be a sin to pass by one of the greatest war heroes this country has every known. Our young people need this type of exposure.
James H. Foster Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
R. G. Fox, Disabled Vet Goose Creek, South Carolina Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Cecil Franklin, Veteran Stockton, California I feel this man deserves further recognition for the bravery and courage he demonstrated.
William H. Franks, Mason Stockbridge, Georgia Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Jacquelylyn Frederick, Fan Nacogdoches, Texas Audie Murphy was a hero. I think the young need someone to look up to and the late Audie Murphy would be a good example.
Alan Freed, Professional Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Why not ... A true American Hero. We do spend a lot of time with make believe heroes. Why not a real one this time?
John M. Frisk State College, Pennsylvania Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Darryl Frith, Stamp Collector Memphis, Tennessee Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
