Audie Murphy was only a youngster when he earned the Medal of Honor.
Honoring him on our nation's postage stamp is long past due. I encourage you
to use your influence to see that a stamp in honor of Audie Murphy is issued.

Please honor him, not just as a veteran of WWII, but as a representative of
American Veterans through history. He continued his place of distinction as
a role model in the cinema. Please honor America's Hero and in doing so
honor American men and women who served and still served. Thank you.

In a time when our citizens select unworthy individuals as heroes
(Rodman/Madonna, etc.), wouldn't the right decision be to publicize the
accomplishments of a real American hero? The US Postal Service has the
ability to put heroic Americans like Audie Murphy in the national spotlight.
Of all the heroes in our great nation's history, Audie Murphy stands out as a
soldier who went above and beyond the call of duty. Don't delay Mr.
Postmaster General. Let's honor Mr. Murphy as soon as possible with a
commemorative stamp. Hey, if you can do it for a rock 'n roll singer, you
can do it for the most decorated veteran in our country's history.

Audie L. Murphy exemplified the true meaning of the word hero. He deserves
the national recognition and honor of a stamp in his name and likeness. Many
before him have received stamps for far less than he.

With all the different people we have honored with stamps, Audie Murphy should
have at least a stamp, if not a whole series. Many Americans have never even
heard of him, and perhaps a realease with all the publicity for new stamps of
late, will help him get his name back into the American culture.

In an age when many people need heroes, Audie Murphy would truly be one they
could look up to and find so many qualities that our societ needs today. I
respectfully request that the Postal Service give serious consideration to
honoring Audie Murphy and that he be represented with a commemorative stamp.

If we can do it for some of the others, why can't it be done for one of
the nation's real heroes? Please do this now.
