Name Location Comments
John Dallair, Veteran San Antonio, Texas This honor for Major Audie L. Murphy is long overdue. I'm sure Elvis and Bugs Bunny would agree.
Martin Dalton, Civil Servant Swedesboro, New Jersey Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Matthew B. Dalton, College Student Knoxville, Tennessee Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Kelly Dancer, Patriot Bixby, Oklahoma Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Brian Darnell, Student Hemet, California If Elvis and Marilyn Monroe have stamp collections then someone with the kind of esteem that Audie Murphy has should be honored with a full collection.
Jean Darnell, Educator Oakton, Virginia Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Day B. Davis, Jr., Retired Air Force Campbell, Texas Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
James M. Davis, Retiree Alexandria, Virginia Audie Murphy should have been so honored many years ago.
Steve Davis, Citizen Lubbock, Texas Audie Murphy was a true hero, certainly worthy to be honored with a stamp series. His heroism is a symbol of a generation that sacrificed to ensure democracy and freedom for ourselves and our families for the past fifty years.
Dorothey Dean, PhD, Professional San Diego, California Audie Murphy was a true American hero, our most decorated soldier. Even though he was included in the WWII stamp with other Congressional Medal winners, he was more than just one of several. He stood alone for his achievements both on and off the battlefield. He deserves to be recognized as a man who overcame battle wounds, emotional and physical, to become a role model for all Americans. Everyone would approve a belated individual recognition for Audie Murphy.
Kelli Dean, Veteran Killeen, Texas Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Gregory Dearborn Radcliff, Kentucky In these times we all need someone to look up in hard times not only the young. I believe the Stamp Series would be a good start for all of us, especially the Children.
Bradley E. Debow, Educator Irvine, California It is a sad day when a soldier, entertainer, and patriot as great as Audie Murphy is not given the proper recognition that he so rightly has earned and deserved.
C. Henry DeBow, War Veteran Long Beach, California I am a Korean War Veteran. I feel great compassion for what Audie Murphy did for our country. He is symbolic of all of us who went to our several wars, fought, were injured or, tragically, died. A stamp would seem to be the least we could do to honor this brave man's memory.
Meseret Debru, 11th Grade Student Decatur, Georgia I think that if this man was brave enough to die for his country, then he should be honored with at least a stamp.
Suzanne Degrugillier Fargo, North Dakota I REALLY think that Audie Murphy should be honored with stamps.
Daniel L. Delaney ????, Massachusetts What are our priorities as a Nation? It is sad to reflect that entertainers and cartoon characters deserve a higher place in our culture than one of our greatest heroes.
Robert DeLaRouge, Active Army Colorado Springs, Colorado Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Michelle DelCarlo, Movie Fan Glendale Heights, Illinois Audie Murphy was a great man, and should be honored with a stamp. Elvis never got the Medal of Honor, and he got a whole stamp series! Give Mr. Murphy a stamp to complete his legend!
James E. deMin, White Collar Worker Glendora, California I feel that it is unthinkable that the nation will not honor its most decorated soldier, Audie Murphy, with a commemorative stamp. I can't think of a single person who has ever received this honor who had given so much to his country and received virtually nothing in return. I hope that you reconsider this decision.
Robert E. Denney, Retired Army Springfield, Virginia Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Patsy Derickson, Fan South Bend, Indiana I think Audie Murphy should be honored with a stamp series. What a honor for a man who gave himself for us to live in a free country and give us many hours of enjoyment on the big screen. He is someone we can look at and be proud to be an American and also for a role model. (We don't have too many today to look at). Thanks.
Walter J. Devine, Active Air Force Harrisburg, Pennsylvania I strongly support this noble effort to recognize a great American Warrior. Your support to "make this happen" is appreciated. Please get out in front and strongly support the Audie Murphy stamp issue effort. Thank you and best regards!
John C. Dichard, Retired Navy Lewisberry, Pennsylvania Lets get this real American hero on a stamp. Don't tell me we already honored MOH winners. This is an individual award for rememberance to America's greatest hero. Give him the respect he deserves.
Marion A. Dickerman, Fan Ormond Beach, Florida Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Sandy E. Dickerson Princeton, Texas My family grew up in Farmersville, Texas and still live in the surrounding communities. We would be greatly honored to have a stamp for one of ours.
Donald B. Dileo, Veteran Yardville, New Jersey How could you not honor the most decorated soldier of WWII?
James Dimichele Effort, Pennsylvania Audie Murphy the most highly decorated man in WWII has never been honored with a memorial stamp yet the postal service has deemed fit to honor Tweety Bird, Sylvester the Cat, Porky the Pig, and many other unworthy characters. Honor our heroes. Give our children true role models to follow.
Michael and Lisa Dinsmore Washington, Utah Audie Murphy deserves to be remembered for the contributions he made in defense of our country.
Seth Dix, Citizen Nicholasville, Kentucky Audie Murphy deserves it and should be honored.
Ted Dixon, Civil Servant Chesterfield, Virginia Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Charles M. Dodd, Retired Army Harrisburg, Pennsylvania Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Jerry Dodson, Citizen Seattle, Washington It's past time for an entire stamp series to be dedicated to this outstanding citizen and person.
Shane Dodson, Citizen Plano, Texas He deserves a stamp. He is a great American hero. We owe it to him.
Ronald Dolson, Retired, Air Force Killeen, Texas Why not a stamp for a real American hero - Audie Murphy !!!!!
Martin Donahue, Police Officer Taunton, Massachusetts I strongly recommend that a commemorative stamp be issued in honor of Audie L. Murphy, the most decorated American military service member who ever fought during World War II or any war. Audie Murphy was the recipient of every medal of valor our country could give including the Medal of Honor and medals of valor earned from the countries of France and Belgium.
Vic Donovan, Former Air Force Sergeant Las Vegas, Nevada The spirit of Audie L. Murphy can reach all of us. We need this in our lives. Where will we find such courage if we do not remember our heroes?
Ronald Dorey Windsor, Ontario, Canada I think a war hero should have his own stamp.
Chris Douglas, Reservist, Armed Forces ????, North Carolina You find it in your heart to honor poets, scientists, and scholars. I think that you should take the time to honor a man that helped to enstill the values and beliefs of Americans with his actions in combat. He truly is one of the greatest American heroes of our time.
J. L. Douglas, Veteran Lewisville, Texas Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Charles J. Douris, Disabled Vet Schwenksville, Pennsylvania There have been few heroes like Audie Murphy. We believe that a commemorative stamp series is deserved. And it will help to preserve his memory. Thank you.
Lawrence J. Drexler, M.D. Shreveport, Louisiana Come on. We need heroes, especially now -- who in government do we have to look up to??? ELVIS had a stamp, for Christ's sake.
Andy Duggins, Student, 6th Grade Make a stamp. Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Judi Duke, Citizen Saratoga Springs, New York An American hero like Audie Murphy should have been honored years ago. Think of some of the other people that have appeared on stamps. I collect stamps and this would be a set I would preserve.
Michael H. Duke, Active Army Fayetteville, North Carolina If Audie Murphy is not worthy of an entire stamp series then maybe we should take another look at what direction this country is going. We have honored Elvis which I have no problem with. But if Audie Murphy is not considered worthy of at least the same privelege as a rock singer, then I have a problem!
Richard Van Dusen Los Angeles, California Mr. Murphy was the most decorated soldier in world war two. He was an actor of great talent. He was a decent human being.
Denise A. Duvall, Civil Servant San Diego, California This man is more deserving of a postage stamp than James Dean or Marilyn Monroe. Let's get the ball rolling and get it done!
Chris Dyg New Richmond, Wisconsin A stamp with each of his medals is in my opinion very appropriate.
