Harry Cannady, Citizen Yukon, Oklahoma I cannot believe that there has to be a petition in order to get such a person as Audie Murphy on a stamp when so many people less deserving have been honored in that manner.
SGT Michael Cannon Fort Stewart, Georgia I believe that Audie Murphy should be honored with a stamp because he was a man of courage and high morals. Its something that the United States should be proud to honor this great hero!
Exie Cantrell, Fan Milan, Illinois I think that Audie L. Murphy should be on a stamp because he was the greatest hero that ever lived. And he is therefore deserving of this honor.
Suzanne "Suzi" Cantu, Citizen Vallejo, California We have had stamps for many stars, birds, flowers, etc. Audie Murphy deserves the honor with an entire stamp series. As a War Hero, the best of the best, and as a wonderful actor!!!!! Through his courage he gave of himself, asking nothing in return. It is time that we of the United States salute him and never let his memory fade away. By honoring him with a stamp series, we can forever remember this outstanding soldier. God bless Audie Murphy.
Paul Carr, Active Army Watertown, New York Our country is losing sight of its true American heroes. Today's younger generation are losing sight of what our country has been built on. The blood, sweat, and tears of great men such as Audie Murphy, who have contributed to the arts and to our nation's freedom. What does it take to give a man a stamp in recognition of all his contributions throughout his years to our nation.
George Carrasco, Retired Army San Antonio, Texas Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Michael J. Carroll, Active Army Fort Richardson, Alaska Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.

Charles Cavagnetto, War Veteran Tiburon, California In a time of hero worshipping, i.e. Elvis and Marilyn and some doubtful politicians, it is time to Honor with a capital H one of a band of real heroic men.

SFC Robert E. Chapman, Retired Army Houghton Lake, Michigan To honor a bird is sick. Audie Murphy was the best. That is why I use e-mail when I can.
S. B. Chatterjee, Fan West Hortford, Connecticut A well deserved American hero should be honored with a postage stamp.
Raquel Chavez, Movie Fan Sacramento, California Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Kevin Cheatham, Active Army Hinesville, Georgia Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Harold Cheesman Fox Island, Washington This country needs to have heroes. Audie L. Murphy is one of the greatest. We need to honor our war heroes such as Mr. Murphy.
Patrick Chellino Las Vegas, Nevada Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Thomas S. Chiancone, Jr., Veteran Greenville, North Carolina I can not believe a hero like Murphy cannot have a stamp when monsters and cartoons can.
Richard Choromanski Havertown, Pennsylvania Please support the memory of a fine American and soldier, Audie Murphy.
Roger L. Chrisley, Disabled Vet Calhoun Falls, South Carolina I am a Korean War Vet. I went into the army when I was 14. If I could have accomplished 1/10th the things that Audie Murphy did, I would be very proud of my contribution to my country. He should be honored with an entire stamp series.
John Clare (Not Given Audie Murphy was a true American hero, not a movie star or an athlete. I think its about time to return to real heroes and stop glorifying those that don't deserve it.
Dan Clark, Veteran Lexington, Kentucky Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Linwood Clarke, Professional North Carver, Massachusetts Elvis was not a hero, but a popular icon. And he got a stamp!
Mr. Vonnie R. Claytor, Disabled Vet Silver Spring, Maryland GIVE AUDIE MURPHY HIS STAMP.
Paul E. Clifford Newton, Massachusetts Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
George Cloos, Veteran (Not Given) If you can issue a stamp for Marilyn Monroe and other Hollywood types, you should be able to pay homage to a true American hero, Audie Murphy.
Jim Clouse, Citizen Brentwood, Tennessee America and the world needs heroes. Perhaps more now than ever before. Audie Murphy is the true American hero.
George Coan, Citizen Camden, South Carolina Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Joe G. Cockrill Bonham, Texas I think the number one war hero of the U.S. should have a stamp.
Rod Cody, Disabled Vet Rice Lake, Wisconsin Give Audie all the recognition he deserves and has earned!
Alvin R. Cole, Retired Marine Corps Chester, Virginia I strongly recommend that a commemorative stamp be issued in honor of Audie L. Murphy, the most decorated American military service member who ever fought during World War II or any war. Audie Murphy was the recipient of every medal of valor our country could give including the Medal of Honor and medals of valor earned from the countries of France and Belgium.
Bradley Kevin Collard, Elected Official Quinlan, Texas I am very disappointed that the United States has yet to honor the most decorated hero in World War II.
Lindsey C. Collier Mt. Gay, West Virginia Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Esteen R. Collins, Professional San Antonio, Texas Audie Murphy was a great role model and a national treasure. The least this nation could do is honor his memory and what he did for this nation with a stamp series.
Greg Collins, College Student Slaton, Texas I think it is funny that the USPS would honor John Lennon on a stamp and not Murphy. Audie risked his life so the Postmaster General would have a job and John Lennon was against war and not even from this country. I am against war but if I was called to defend my country, I would go and fight. I would not try to dodge my country's request like so many did in the 60's including Mr. Lennon.
Tom Collins Beltsville, Maryland Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Cathy Combs, Citizen Plymouth, Minnesota Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Kristina Comeaux Jasper, Texas Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Ed Commette, Senior Citizen Lutz, Florida Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Brian P. Comstock, Veteran Odenville, Alabama Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Frederick, Maryland This is a no-brainer. How could you possibly consider Bugs Bunny or Elvis Presley before Audie Murphy? You should be ashamed. Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Albert Z. Conner, War Veteran Stafford, Virginia Our stamps should draw proper attention to our national heroes, remembering that our heroes are merely human and imperfect as God made us. The idea should be to identify and recognize them for their great acts.
Trenton J. Conner (Not Given) Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Jeannetta Conroy (Not Given) I believe that the most decorated soldier should be honored on a stamp long before any cartoon character. Come on, let's get real!
George J. Constande Salisbury, North Carolina I feel that a stamp issued about Audie Murphy is a fitting remembrance to one who gave so much for his country.
Stephen Cook, Student Waxhaw, North Carolina Mr. Postmaster, I am a junior in high school. I don't know much about life and all that, but I do know that Audie Murphy was a damn good American. He should be honored with an entire stamp series. Most people my age don't know crap from Crisco, but they need to be made aware of a true American hero. For the young people's sake, create a stamp series. My hat goes off to Audie.
Leanna Cooper, White Collar Worker Cedar Springs, Michigan Honestly, don't you think this should have been done ages ago? He has been both a famous veteran and an actor!
Melissa D. Cooper, Active Army Fort Stewart, Georgia I am a newly inducted member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club on Ft. Stewart, GA and an active duty soldier. Not only is a stamp in Audie Murphy's memory warranted but it is virtually necessary in order to rejuvenate awareness of his heroic acts and selfless deeds. Audie L. Murphy remains the greatest combat soldier in the 200 year plus history of the U.S.!
Randy Cooper, Fan Janesville, Iowa Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Tim Copeland, Active Army Fort Stewart, Georgia I am currently in the United States Army stationed at Fort Stewart, home of the 3d Infantry Division since April 1996. Audie L. Murphy was part of the Marne Division's history and myself and others are honored to wear the same patch he did. He was the most decorated soldier in American history. I am also a postal clerk and noticed that many people who did less things are honored with stamps. Some people I have never heard of before. Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series. Thank you.
Kathleen Ann Corazzini, Disabled Vet Pittsburg, New Hampshire Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Craig Cosby, College Student Mertens, Texas Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Joseph S. Cotillo, Retired Air Force Suitland, Maryland If this true American Hero cannot have his image on a U.S. Postage stamp, then who else is qualified? If his accomplishments mean nothing then whose do? Without a stamp for Audie Murphy, who earned this honor on the battlefield, I suggest that all other stamp images be deleted and replaced with the numerical cost of the stamp.
John Robert Counter, Professional San Juan Capistrano, California Concerning a commemorative stamp for the late Audie L. Murphy. This you should do. Thanks, Best regards.
Rick Cowdrey, Professional Lebanon, Ohio I've learned a lot from my friend, Sue Gossett, who wrote a book on Audie. Audie is the type of American Hero who deserves recognition on a stamp ... we put cartoon characters on stamps (i.e. Bugs Bunny), a hero like Audie deserves much more recognition than that.
Patricia A. Cowles, Educator (Not Given) In the U.K. we honoured Diana Princess of Wales in numerous ways. Books, photographs, stamps, and china. Surely the U.S.A. could honour their hero Audie Murphy in stamps. It will show us in the rest of the world how much you appreciated his courage and selflessness in World War II. Please let us all, all over the world, see him honoured properly.
Brian L. Cox, Citizen Bowie, Maryland Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
George Cox, Friend Leonardtown, Maryland Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
C. H. Craig Graham, Washington Audie Murphy should be honored not only as a hero but more importantly, as a true American Patriot. A stamp series is just one way to keep alive his memory and what he stood for.
Harry E. Craig Summerville, South Carolina A stamp to honor Audie Murphy is long overdue. He is one of the greatest Americans and no one should ever forget him or what he did for all of us then and now.
Kenneth L. Cramer, Worker Enola, Pennsylvania It is beyond my imagination that we have to have a petition for this man to have a stamp in his honor.
Billie G. Cranford ????, California Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Iris W. Cranford ????, California My husband and I believe that our country's military and other human heroes should certainly be honored and above any comic strip character. Honoring Bugs Bunny over and above Audie Murphy, a true USA hero, is absolutely stupid and does not speak very well of our intelligence as a country!
Roberta Crater, White Collar Worker Brookhaven, New York Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Kenneth Crawford, Patriot LaCrosse, Florida Please do not fail to finally give this appropriate honor to a great American of the past. His service to this country was, in the truest sense of the word "ABOVE AND BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY" although he certainly would not have agreed with this statement. He, along with many others, was willing to pay the supreme price for our freedom. His memory is a blessing for all AMERICANS!!!!
David Creswell Jackson, Tennessee Where is your American Pride? Audie Murphy is quite possibly the greatest role model for all Americans there ever has been. You should be ashamed of yourself for denying the stamp. All American war heroes should be honored, don't be so ridiculous. Bugs Bunny has never done anything in comparison.
Nancy A. Crosslin Odessa, Texas Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Dr. Larry D. Crouch, Professor Lincoln, Nebraska I was shocked to learn that Audie Murphy, one of the bravest and most unselfish Americans ever, has yet to be honored with a commemorative stamp. This oversight is distressing. When at a time so many in the public eye are so clearly most concerned with self, it is of utmost importance to honor the memory of one who repeatedly put others before himself. We Americans should aspire to the greatest among us, and Audie Murphy symbolizes greatness as really no other in American history. Please right this horrible wrong.
James C. Crowe Slatehill, New York Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Phyliss Crowe West, Texas Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Dan Crummett Stillwater, Oklahoma Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Michael H. Crutcher, Retired Army Carlisle, Pennsylvania To understand where we are as a country, we need to understand where we have been and the sacrifices and accomplishments of those who went before us. It would be most appropriate to honor Audie Murphy with a postage stamp to remind the present generation of Americans of the valor and humanity of those who fought during World War II, and a stamp honoring Audie Murphy would do that.
Curtis L. Cunningham, Veteran Beech Grove, Indiana Audie Murphy, a war veteran the likes of which we have never seen before, and probably will never see again, should be recognized in a stamp series if for nothing else, for what he's done for our freedom in this country. Heroism like his should not go unrewarded. He entertained us in the movies, as a songwriter as well as a writer of poetry. If we can put Marily Monroe and Elvis Presley on a stamp, we can put someone the magnitude of Audie Murphy, who not only acted in movies, but fought for our freedom in WWII. It's not asking too much in comparison for what he did for us.
Don & Norma Jean Curry Vienna, Virginia Please honor Audie Murphy for his contribution to the freedom of our country. Please think of the freedom YOU have eacn and everyday of your life. If "cartoon characters", "drug abusers", "animals", "fruits and flowers" have their place of honor on a stamp ... why not Audie Murphy ... the most decorated serviceman of our time. Shame ... shame ... shame on this country who denies Audie his rightful place among our nation's honored servicemen.
Daniel Cyr, Movie Fan St-Hilaire, Quebec; Canada Bonjour! I'm a french canadian and sorry for my english, is not very good. But for me Audie Murphy was not only a great soldier but also a very good actor. He died too early, he had many projects to do in the movies. I hope to see one day a stamp of this great American hero.
