| Name | Location | Comments | Chris L. B. | Southampton, United Kingdom | It's about time this happened to a real hero .... |
| James E. Babin | Lake Charles, Louisiana | Instead of honoring someone who died from an overdose of pills, like Elvis Presley or Marilyn Monroe, lets honor one of America's greatest military heroes by placing his image on a U.S. postage stamp. I recommend using the image of Audie that appeared on the cover of Life Magazine right after he returned to the U.S. from WWII service. |
| William A. Bailey | Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania | A rather simple American who did his duty, Audie Murphy should be remembered /honored by the issuance of a stamp. In my opinion, he is more deserving than some of the recent choices. |
| Bobbie Baker | San Jose, California | I agree with the text as written. Audide should be honored on a commemorative stamp. |
| Kevin P. Baker, Jr. | APO AE | How can we honor cartoon characters, but not the most famous loyal, and decorated soldier in history?? |
|
SSG Michael L. Baker Ex-82d Airborne Division | Midlothian, Virginia | In a day when we receive stamps of Elvis and BUGS BUNNY, for gosh sakes, don't you think it's time to honor one of the greatest, if not the greatest, man this country has ever produced? LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN! |
| George H. Ballentine | Copperas Cove, Texas | Stamps represent the history of this country and Audie Murphy is as much a part of that history as anyone or anything. Maybe we should change the saying to "Mom, apple pie, & Audie Murphy" ... |
| Gene Bales | Bremerton, Washington | Audie should be honored with an entire stamp series. |
| Perry G. Barlow | Barrington, Rhode Island | GREAT IDEA!!!! |
| Wayne J. Barlow, Veteran | Yorba Linda, California | Please help those of us who wish to remember the many supreme sacrifices made on the battlefields of World War II by young men such as Audie L. Murphy. Though their voices were silenced long ago, they still cry out for the bravest among them to rightfully be honored and recognized. A nation achieves greatness only when it remembers those whose blood, sweat, and tears were shed in the pursuit of honor, duty, and country. This is the legacy left by Audie L. Murphy and those who served and died to make other men free. The time has come to lift up our heads and gaze upon a true American hero. A stamp commemorating Audie Murphy is fitting and right. He earned his place in the hearts of all who hold freedom dear. |
| Keith Barnes | (not given) | Just do it!!! |
| Jerl D. Barnett | Sugar Land, Texas | Equal to (if not more American) than Elvis. Audie symbolized us all. |
| Bill Barron | Lompoc, California | If we can honor movie and sports with commemerative stamps, what is wrong with honoring a true American hero. We are the people who purchase the stamps and our desires should carry the weight. |
| James B. Bartley | Herndon, Virginia | Audie should be honored with an entire stamp series. |
| Samuel R. Basso, Disabled Vet | Wappingers Falls, New York | Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series. |
| Thomas Baum, Professional | Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina | In this day when our country has so few true HEROES, I can think of no American more worthy of being honored as a true HERO than Audie L. Murphy. Please honor this great American figure with a complete stamp series. |
| Dale Beard | Plymouth, Minnesota | Please do the country justice by issuing an Audie Murphy Stamp. We owe so much to the veterans of this great land. We have stamps for reasons and persons far less deserving than Audie Murphy. Let's have a stamp we can all be proud of. |
| William T. Bearden | Greensboro, North Carolina | Audie should be honored with an entire stamp series. |
| Carla Becker | Reno, Nevada | I think it is a shame and a sad statement of the way our country is moving that a person who has honored our country enough that he was recognized and decorated for it takes a backseat to a storybook character and an animated rabbit. |
| Vernon Becker | Millsboro, Deleware | Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp. |
| Will Bedard | Boone, North Carolina | Give this great American a stamp. He represents the best of American manhood. My grandfather's generation fought in a war to free mankind of the fascist spectre and some of us still remember. Audie Murphy is the symbol of that generation and is worthy of a stamp. |
| Audree Begay | Killeen, Texas | Audie should be honored with an entire commemorative stamp series. |
| Christopher D. Begley | Woodbridge, Virginia | You have a commemorative for the so called king of rock and roll, Marilyn, and now a cartoon character! Why not for a change put a real American Hero on a stamp rather than all of these self-proclaimed American heroes. |
| David A. Beitzel | Foster City, California | Audie should be honored with an entire stamp series. |
| Carolyn L. Bellavia, Educator | Harker Heights, Texas | Let us send a message to our future leaders that heroes are as important as the cartoon characters, animals, and plants that are currently being portrayed on America's stamps. |
| Anne M. Benedetto | (not given) |
Mr. Murphy came from a very poor family. His father ran away leaving his
mother and his siblings to support themselves. Rather than turning to a life
of crime or drug abuse which is so prevalent today with other young men of
the same age, he chose a different route. He became the greatest war hero
in the history of this country. It would take much, much, more than a stamp
for America to balance the debt it owes this man. The United States Post
Office would do well to remember that, if not for exceptionally brave you men
like Audie L. Murphy, they may never have produced the very propular American
flag stamp. Who knows what flag would be flying today? The Medal of Honor. If a mere private wears the medal, five star generals, as well as the Commander in Chief are obliged to salute him/her first. They are not saluting the private, but the medal and what it took to earn it. I believe the Postmaster General should salute Mr. Murphy with a stamp. |
| Richard D. Benedetto | (not given) | I recently read in the news that Bugs Bunny now has a stamp. Is this some kind of joke? If a cartoon character can get a US Postal stamp, should there be any question as to Audie Murphy receiving the same honor? I think not. The Postmaster General needs to re-evaluate his priorities. |
| Emily Bennet | (not give) | Please come out with a stamp for Audie Murphy. HE was a great man and needs to be remembered! |
| Lois Bennett | Poway, California | Audie should be honored with an entire stamp series. |
| Steve Bennett | Witchita, Kansas | Audie should be honored with an entire stamp series. |
| Kelly Bente | San Antonio, Texas |
To the Postmaster General: There is no one in the course of American history more deserving to be honored with a stamp than Audie Murphy. Please be the one responsible for honoring the greatest hero our country has known with an entire stamp series. It is not just a good thing to do, it is the right thing to do. Thank you for your time in considering this request. |
| Bob Berry | Las Vegas, Nevada | I believe it is past time for a stamp series for Audie L. Murphy. Why is it you can offer a series of stamps honoring drug addicts but cannot honor an American hero? |
| David Bethel, Jr. | Killeen, Texas | Audie should be honored with an entire stamp series. |
| Helen Bickley | Oakland, California | Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series. |
| Larry J. Biggerstaff | Rutherfordton, North Carolina | Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series. |
| Diane Bigler | Palmdale, California | Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series. |
| Charles Bihun | Woodbridge, Virginia | You can issue a stamp for Bugs Bunny but not Audie Murphy? Shame! |
| Robert Binz | Fenton, Missouri | Today's young people need heroes. Mr. Murphy was a true hero. He put his life on the line that others may live including mine. Today we have too many of our leaders to be draft dodgers, liars, and womanizers ... example, Bill Clinton. Mr. Murphy and all other medal of honor recipients should be honored and give Americans the opportunity to REMEMBER WHAT WAR WAS REALLY LIKE AND THE HARDSHIPS WAR GAVE TO OUR COUNTRY. |
| Kurt Alan Bishop | Scottsdale, Arizona | Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series. |

| Laurie Blalock, Educator | Fort Hood, Texas | It is only fitting that a man of such esteem should be honored with a stamp series due to his extraordinary feats of heroism during the war. |
| Lori Blankenship | Washougal, Washington | Audie should be honored with an entire stamp series. |
| Larry Blanks | Fayetteville, Georgia | As such a multi-faceted American Hero, there is no one who is more deserving of this honor than Medal of Honor winner, Audie Murphy. Please place his name at the head of the list. Thank you. |
| Ainiee Bleyn | De Pinte, Belgium | As the winner of one of my country's highest medals for valor and heroism, Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series. |

| John Bourdage | Seattle, Washington |
To the Hon. Marvin Runyon: I am writing you to ask you to consider several commemorative stamps honoring Audie L. Murphy. Why he is being ignored is beyond any American's comprehension. There should be a sheet of 20 commemorative stamps honoring Audie as a soldier in World War II. Dressed in a dress uniform with all his medals. Plus, I think he should be honored for his excellent movie career. Showing him as he looked in many of his great Western Films. This sheet of 20 commemorative stamps would be issued under the Hollywood Legends series. Remember, Audie Murphy beat out even John Wayne a few times as the country's top Western Star! Please honor Audie Murphy with these commemorative stamp ideas. It's not much to ask for and an easy task for the U.S.P.S. to undertake. Thank you for your time and cooperation. |
| Allan Bourdius | Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp. |
| T. M. Brackenbury | Las Vegas, Nevada | Audie Murphy deserves to be honored with an entire stamp series. |
| Stan Bradford | Desoto, Texas | In a day when people are hailed as heroes who have done nothing more for this nation than catch footballs or sing insipid songs, I believe it is a shame that we can't honor a man who risked so much. While Audie did have numerous problems his record speaks for itself. Let's capture once again a true sense of what matters and honor a true hero. |
| Arlen Bradley, Retired Air Force | Grand Prairie, Texas | It's surprising to learn that this has not yet been done, considering what Mr. Murphy did for our country. Let's hurry and rectify this oversight! |
| Marie L. Bradley | Monroe, Virginia | This series of stamps is long overdue. |
| Craig A. Brand | Roseville, California | Please make every attempt to ensure that one of America's greatest heroes is honored. His likeness portrayed on a stamp will go a long way towards promoting nationalism in our great country. |

| James Breckinridge, Active Army | Honolulu, Hawaii | I strongly recommend that a commemorative stamp be issued in honor of Audie L. Murphy, the most decorated American military service member who ever fought during World War II or any war. Audie Murphy was the recipient of every medal of valor our country could give including the Medal of Honor and medals of valor earned from the countries of France and Belgium. |
| Mark Bredt | Calistoga, California | I cannot think of a person in our history who has a better right to the honor of a commemorative stamp than Audie Murphy. As the country's most decorated soldier, and as a Saturday Matinee hero, he personified those ideals we like to believe America stands for. Create the stamps. I'll be the first in line to buy them. |
| Michael Brevet | Metuchen, New Jersey | Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp. |
| John Briggs | Temple, Texas | Audie should be honored with a commemorative stamp. |
| Pat H. Broeske | Santa Ana, California | U.S. postage stamps have a tradition of honoring American originals. Audie Murphy was certainly that. |

| Jeff Bryant | Hillsboro, Oregon | I believe we should honor a hero such as Audie Murphy, who fought for the freedoms we still enjoy today. Especially since he is the most decorated hero of WWII. | Gregory J. Buck | Killeen, Texas | Audie should be honored with a commemorative stamp. |

| Scott Burkett | Clearwater, Florida | Audie should be honored with an entire stamp series. |
| Lisa Burks | Burbank, California | If anyone deserves a stamp series, it's GOT to be Audie Murphy, the most decorated combat serviceman to honor this country ever! Not that I don't love film stars you've honored in the past, but in the category of "a cut above the rest" Audie's tops! Please consider paying him the respect he deserves. |
| Keleigh Burton | Las Vegas, Nevada | Audie Murphy deserves a commemorative stamp. |
| James F. Busse | Rochelle, Illinois | Mr. Murphy went beyond his contributions during WWII to become beloved by many through his exposure in the film industry. It is fitting and proper that he be honored with a commemorative stamp. We seem to lose sight of those who serve our country and of the contributions they made and the sufferings they endured. A commemorative stamp is one small way to keep Mr. Murphy's light shining, and through him, to again recognize all who went with him, and all who didn't return. |
| Janice Butler | (not given) | Audie should be honored with an entire stamp series. |
| Paul E. Butler | Kingsland, Georgia | Postmaster, I feel that it is a shame that the people that helped keep this country free for all do not rate the acknowledgement that so many others have received. I know that there was a WWII series - I have it. But what about honoring the men that were there and not just the campaigns they fought in? I strongly recommend that a commemorative stamp be issued in honor of Audie L. Murphy, the most decorated American servicemember in WWII. Thank you. |
| Robert L. Butler | Kennesaw, Georgia | Audie should be honored with an entire stamp series. |
| Deborah Burton-Cornejo | Las Vegas, Nevada | Audie should have had a stamp before a lot of others who have them. He was a true American hero. |
