Wanda AAberg, Citizen Hot Springs, South Dakota Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Ron Abel Claymont, Deleware Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Kevin Abernathy, Citizen Meridian, Idaho Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Richard R. Abernathy Murphys, ??? Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Kay Acree, Citizen Archer, Florida It is past time for this man to be honored on a stamp.
John Acton, Jr.; National Guard St. Joseph, Missouri Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Lawrence E. Adams, Veteran Hollywood, Maryland Its hard to believe that Bugs Bunny, M. Monroe, and Bela Legosi have stamps, but not Audie Murphy. Somebody hasn't got their priorities straight.
James W. Acker, War Veteran Lubbock, Texas I can think of no other that would represent the veterans of World War II any better than Audie L. Murphy.
Shawn Albert (Not given) Audie Murphy Should be awarded with an entire stamp series.
Scott Aldridge, Police Officer Jefferson, Indiana I would like to see a whole series of Medal of Honor winners. Ernie Pyle would also be a consideration for WWII personalities.
Grady B. Alexander, War Veteran Carrollton, Georgia This American Hero should have been honored long before he lost his life. This country can never do enough for our war heroes, and a stamp is a very little thing compared to what he was owed. If Elvis can have one, so should Audie Murphy.
Joseph D. Alexander, Jr., Teacher Copperas Cove, Texas Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Betty Alge, Worker Minster, Ohio Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
George V. Aliano, Civil Servant Santa Clarita, California Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Andrew C. Allen, Active Army Fort Lewis, Washington Audie Murphy is indeed my greatest hero of all time. As a squad leader in today's Army, I try to model myself after this great man. I would be honored to help with the stamp petition anyway I can. I am also a candidate for the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club here at Fort Lewis, WA. I think that this well deserved honor is long overdue, and that it's about time we start honoring those who put their lives on the line in order to preserve freedom that so many take for granted today.
Lloyd Alfred McDonald, Pennsylvania This is a worthy American, deserving of appropriate recognition for service to his country.
Robert Alipo, Police Officer Farmingville, New York Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
James Alipoonarian Mahpac, New York Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Georgene Alizadeh, Citizen Corinth, Texas Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Shawn Alyea, Fan Edmond, Oklahoma Please consider honoring this great man with a series of stamps. No one has or ever will be more of an American role model than Audie Murphy.
Lawrence W. Amici (Not Given) Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Carl K. Anderson Dumfries, Virginia Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
Leon Anderson Couer d'Alene, Idaho As one of America's greatest heroes, isn't this the least we could do to honor him?
Richard L. Anderson, Jr., Police Officer Hockley, Texas Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
W. R. Anderson, Veteran Lynn, Massachusetts Elvis my ass. It would be a breath of fresh air to see a Government agency do the right thing for a change without the rest of us having to 'twist their arm' for decades. Perhaps someday we could issue a series of stamps on a prominent American draft dodgers, your current Boss chief among them. Get with the program, Mr. Runyon
Robert B. Andrews, Patriot Woodbridge, Virginia I can think of no other person who has earned the right to be honored in such a fashion. In this age of rampant liberalism, your predecessor included, the memory of heroes are soiled by those who never aspire to valor, patriotism, and honor. Audie Murphy stands next to Sgt. York, Gen. Chesty Puller, Gen. Patton, and Teddy Roosevelt in the annals of the history of the greatest of all countries. A picture on a stamp is the least we can do.
Thomas W. Andrews, Citizen Harrisburg, Pennsylvania The US Postal Service is running out of excuses on this one. Let's honor one of the most famous United States servicemen with a series of commemorative US Postal stamps. He was a very talented person and saved many lives during his tour.
Tim Arney, Citizen Dayton, Ohio We have stamps for cartoon characters, but you won't give one to a national hero??!! Do the right thing please!!
Dale V. Ashman, War Veteran ???, Georgia Audie Murphy was one of our country's greatest heroes. To have a stamp for this gentleman would only be fitting, for he gave so much to our country. There are stamps on other individuals that gave much less. Lets set things straight and do what is right and honorable for this great American hero, lest he and what he did be forgotten by the younger generations to come. Look at Gen. McArthur ... he gets a medal for escaping from the Phillipines? Big deal! How many bullets did he dodge during WWII? And some of the other big brass, they get stamps and medals for things soldiers like Audie Murphy did. Even Gen. Ike who never fired a shot at the enemy in any war gets his due. Now its time the real soldiers that did the fighting and the dying get what should always have been theirs. For without them, this country would not be. Great book to read is "Citizen Soldier". Read it!!
Joseph R. Atkins, Citizen Lawrenceville, Georgia Audie Murphy should be honored with an entire stamp series.
Joseph J. Aulenti, Lawyer Stamford, Connecticut It would be particularly appropriate to honor Mr. Murphy with a commemorative stamp in the brief time remaining before the last of our World War II veterans passes away. No other military person in this country's history has received the decorations of valor awarded to Audie Murphy. His achievements are all the more remarkable given his youth and the disadvantages of his early years. At a time when service to our country has come under disrepute, we should honor a man who served and sacrificed for his country.
Kenneth E. Ault, War Veteran Indiana, Pennsylvania If there ever was an individual who deserved a commemorative stamp it is Audie Murphy.
Jose Avila, White Collar Worker Los Angeles, California Audie Murphy should be honored on a commemorative stamp.
