My copy of the Kid from Texas isn't working so can't catch a name for this guy to identify him.

IMDB says that Dick Wessel played a character called "Deputy Bart, the Jailer," but was uncredited in the film itself. Seems like the most probable candidate.

Thanks. I'll pull up other pics on that name and compare, but sounds plausible to me.

One more time.....is this guy Ed Hinton? I think he is called Naylor in Walk the Proud Land, but my copy is not good and keeps messing up to where I can't catch a name. Very distressing.

I have two copies of Wild and the Innocent and neither will play so can't catch a name to put with this actress. Is it 'Ma Ransome' played by Wesley Marie Tackitt by any chance?

IMDB says the role of Mrs. Strawn (remember, the stepfather and sister in the story are Mr. Strawn and Something-or-Other Strawn; the title character is either using an alias or his own father's name when he calls himself Danny Lester) was played by Barbara Woodell.

I'll go ahead and tell you why I am always asking who is whoever:

I am working on a book and am about 2/3's of the way finished with it. Its called 'Audie Murphy's Film and Television Co-stars from A to Z'. There is close to 600 of them so its gonna be kind of big. I already have a publisher, Bear Manor Media, and the publisher Ben Ohmart said it can be in book form on average 3 months after its completed. I had set myself a completion date of October 1st, but since I was off for 3 weeks recently with foot surgery, I had plenty of time to work on it, so it should be completed this summer. I am hoping it will be in book form by October 1st. They are the ones who published Paul Picerni's book, so am familiar with their style. It is more of an all inclusive reference guide, than something I just came up with. Of course I don't think a book has been made on the co-stars of just one person before, so I guess you could say it is an original. And there is not much new that could be wrote on Audie anyway.

Sue and Betty Tate had been helping me with pictures. I wish Eva was back well, as I know she could really be a big help. I have been trying to get as many pictures of the co-stars with Audie as possible. Some of them I can't find a picture of at all. I figure I will have about 90 to 95% of them with a picture. And about 85% of them will be pictures with Audie, so have been very lucky on finding most pictures. There will be close to 550 pictures, and and least 500 will have Audie in them. Haven't actually counted yet, but still going so won't know exact numbers until I am done.

Michael Dante, Sue Gossett, & Nadine Murphy have all written something for it, so have some great support going in.

Maybe it will get a good reception. Hope so, anyway. Its a lot of work. Didn't realize how much until I got into it.

Anyway, thats the news. And I may need more help in identifying more folks so just bear with me.

Sounds cool, David! Good luck!

Know what you mean about it being difficult to come up with something new to say about Murph himself. I am doing some research to see if I can come up with a fresh angle. I am a bit disgruntled that there are some interesting facts out there that do not seem to have reached any of the standard biographies, but I'm not sure they add up to a reason to do a new biography.

Anyway, onward and upward...

David's book sounds facinating. My direct TV box has a "Cast and crew" section and I am frequently looking at filmography's of cast members from Audie's movies then researching on the internet. It also gives date of death. Brandon DeWilde died at 30. I didn't know that. A number of leading ladies died young.

David,
You are probably aware of these web sites but just in case your
not they are as follows
http://www.cowboypal.com/

http://b-westerns.com/

http://www.westernclippings.com/

I am thinking you can probably get answers to some of your
"who is this" by sending them an e with the pictures to these
web sites.
Any ways if you want to you can look at these sites and see if they can help you.
Don't know if this will help but appreciate all the info you give us on Audie's site.
Sharon J.
