I met up with Russell Boggs last week. Russell was a
prize fighter in the 70's and lived in the Murphy home
for awhile. Audie mangaged him and Russell recalls
fighting at the Silver Slipper in Las Vegas with Audie
in the front row. Russell won over 60 professional fights.

Russell has great memories of the "kids" and Mrs.
Murphy whom he adored. He has some wonderful
stories about Audie. He says that Audie was always
being pulled over by the police as he drove around
town and the cops would ask Audie if he was carrying
a gun. Audie would reply "Am I wearing clothes?" (Audie
always carried a gun) The police would shake their heads
and laugh. They never gave Audie a ticket.

A few articles from 1971 claimed Russell Boggs was living
with Audie Murphy at the time of the fateful plane crash.
It never made sense to me but now it does. Russell was
living with the family. Russell fought under the name of
Buddy Boggs and was an excellent fighter. You can look it up.

Seems the only one I remember seeing is the one of the casket and the horses pulling it. Pam and the boys walking behind if my memory serves me right. That's a good question why there aren't more out there. Surely there are somemore than just that one.
