Little Audie rode in the Rodeo last night and won 2nd place! He got beat out by the last rider of the evening by 2 points. :(
Anyway, he said "That kid is going to loose those points next week." :)
So, here is a short video of Audie riding last night.
I was a bit slow on the start button so you hear the announcer say "Phillips, that is a good cowboy name." I missed capturing the Audie part!
Good to know a cowboy (the announcer) from North Carolina who is perhaps 35 knows who Audie Murphy was!

Here it is, run time is 12 seconds!
You may have to hit the play button, then at least for me, the video plays, then stops and continues loading.
So, just let it do that and then replay it in its entirity!

Thanks,

Dave

Dave,

Very cute. I see you recorded until he fell so I assume you ran out to make sure he was OK? But anyway he looked like quite the cowboy riding that mutton. I'm sure he will come in first place in no time flat.

All,

Thanks to all of you for your post. It was so nice to see that you all appreciate Audie trying to carry on the cowboy tradition.

Thanks,

Dave

Since the video does go sort of quickly, I thought I would post a few pics of Audie that were shot by a professional photographer that night.
Sorry for the watermarks on the pics!
Here they are, and I think I got them all in order correctly:

Dave,

Very cool pictures and he most certainly looks like a little cowboy and not the least bit afraid. Congrats to him.

Thanks Sharon!

He does love being the cowboy. He had a bad night this past Sunday but I think he is over it and looking forward to next Sunday.

Here are pics from this past Sunday.
He sort of got pushed out of the gate as I guess the sheep didn't want to run and rather than push the sheep the handler pushed Audie a bit and I think it caused him to loose his balance.
He dropped after after a second or two.
Bad fall, knocked the breathe out of him and it seems a bit of tenderness in the ribs. Anyway, at first Audie said "I'm not doing this anymore" and then a minute or two later said, "next week that sheep is going to get it." :D
So I guess he is back in action. :ymapplause:
Anyway, he are four pics. In the first one is the young guy standing on the right corner of the gate is the PBR 2009 World Champion Bull Rider J.B. Mauney.

Richard, I know this is not the appropriate venue to promote my Audie and that is not the intent, I just figured some might like to see him. Hope that is ok with you!

Thanks,

Dave
