I've also set the movies to start earlier and end later than supposed to. I have a real problem with not getting the end of stuff I tape and I don't want to take any chances. I just edit them out before I record them to DVD.

Quite! Anything I want to copy to DVD, I habitually set the DVR to 3 minutes before and 3 minutes after, and sometimes even longer, depending on circumstances. Nothing as frustrating as missing the last 30 seconds of a movie. With the TCM stuff I also like to save the blurbs before and after the actual movie. Then when I do my DVD I make the blurbs separate programs, naming them "Intro" and "Post". :D

Me too! I get a lot of good info from that. Like minds  .

Hi Ladies,
Thank You for all the recording tips... I learn so much on this site... No More discussion of
what could happen !!! My mommy always used to say it was a way of inviting trouble ...
Take Care all.. My recorder is all set up to record and Eva thank you for clarification on the
time out here in California, all though I already do that when double checking with my provider
of service. It never hurts to double check... Take Care All. Shirley Jean.

I only taped Bad Boy and The Quick Gun because I already have copies of the other two. Fortunately they taped great; got the introductions and epilogues to both. This is the first time I've seen a good copy of Bad Boy. I even taped the commercial for the 4-disc set  . It was a great day for Audie. Cast a Long Shadow was on the Western Channel earlier in the day.

I'm waiting on Showdown and Trunk to Cairo now. I don't have clear copies of either one.

Got Bad Boy without any trouble, but I got mixed up on Quick Gun's start and end times. I think I'll just buy it from Itunes when I get desperate enough for Murphy films I've not seen.

Rubbing hands rather gleefully about Trunk-hope I remember to record it correctly. It was one of the first Murph films I actively tracked down and bought, instead of going by what I could rent locally or watch on youtube, so...sentimental attachment.

Hi Folks,
I DVD'd all 4. Even got the intro's and comments after. Had to rush a bit changing Discs. I am
most excited by Bad Boy because the only copy I had was a bootlegged copy recorded on
Australian T.V. This one shown is the most crisp and clean copy ever... I think it is because the
broadcast is now digital rather than analog ? And maybe in order to broadcast it, the sponsors had
to re master it prior to broadcast ? Just a guess on my part, have no idea. I waited until the final
movie was shown, then I went back and finalized each disc and added titles before finalizing.
Thanks for all the help gang with your tips. I will now have real crisp clear viewing pleasure.
I am doing Tumbleweed on Monday (which I already did) and can't wait for Trunk to Cairo on
July 7th. Just my thoughts... Shirley Jean.
