Why Topics in Research Section Aren't Listed in Chronological Order:
Although I have sorted the topics and articles into folders for each decade, topics in each folder are not in perfect chronological order. Instead, they are sorted in the message board forums according to when a post was made in descending order. Topics are not sorted by subject line unless you direct the message board to do so.

Since I embedded the date of all articles in the subject line of each topic, you can actually sort the topics chronologically if you tell the message board that you want topics sorted by subject in ascending order. This makes scanning document subjects more efficient since you are probably looking at the dates contained in the subject line.

To help you view the topics in the Library in Chronological order, make the following changes. NOTE: these changes affect ALL forums on the message board. If you make these changes, remember that when finished doing research, reset your viewing options back to the originally selected values using the second set of directions below.

TO VIEW TOPIC SUBJECTS IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER:
1. Click on the "User Control Panel" link (just below the date/time on the upper right side).
2. Click on "Board preferences" link under the Options heading found at the left side of the window.
3. Click on the "Edit display options" that appears just below the "Board preferences" link on the left side of the window.
4. in the "Edit display Options" section, select change the following selections…
a) Display topics ordering by: change this to "Subject"
b) Display topics order direction: change this to "Ascending" (this will reorder the topics from oldest to newest).

TO VIEW TOPIC SUBJECTS IN ORDER OF MOST RECENTLY SUBMITTED:
1. Click on the "User Control Panel" link (just below the date/time on the upper right side).
2. Click on "Board preferences" link under the Options heading found at the left side of the window.
3. Click on the "Edit display options" that appears just below the "Board preferences" link on the left side of the window.
4. in the "Edit display Options" section, select change the following selections…
a) Display topics ordering by (change this to "Post Time")
b) Display topics order direction (change this to "Descending" … this will reorder the topics from oldest to newest).
