The last of the hold-outs, retired Army Chief of Staff Dennis Reimer has endorsed the petition.
I mailed it the day I deployed and it came back today. This now completes the Chiefs of Staff part of the petition, as I have now secured the endorsement of all seven living former Chiefs of Staff of the Army. There are three others but the are currently either serving on active duty or a member of the President's cabinet.
Here is the bio of General Reimer.
I had to write six times to General Reimer (Can't quite figure that out) but he finally came around.
In short or perhaps from a historical perspective every Army Chief of Staff over the past 32 years has now endorsed the petition!

Better late than never I say. There is something to be said about good ole' perseverance and determination ... and you've got it Dave! I suspect that the word is out, Dave. The scuttlebutt at the O-Club and the Veteran's Retirement Center now must be that when a large white envelope comes in the mail with a graphic of a PMoF and a return address of "Dave Phillips", just go ahead and sign it and return it.

What a job ... what a petition.

Very cool! It's neat that you got a "complete set"

I hope I am wrong when I say that this probably won't happen under our current president's watch.

With hopes, prayers, and continued petitioning, maybe, just maybe, the president will be moved to act.

Yes, I thought it to be sort of unique. The complete set of former Chiefs of Staff of the Army. You can never get two generals to agree on anything; I guess this is the exception!

The one thing I know as an absolute when it comes to things kinds of things, after having struggled through the stamp drive in 1996-2000 a petition of this magnitude takes time. But Dave has so carefully put together his game plan that he has maximized the chances in his favor. The people who sponsor these petitions are SOOOO dedicated that time, while something you always think about, is really not a factor. We know it will take a lot of time. I thought the stamp might take a year or two to get ... it took over 4 years.

The time table on this Petition is VERY nicely in sync with the original plans. This president or the next, we are very optimistic.
