Guess I fooled you, sort of, but in fact the
father of General Stanley McChrystal who was relieved of command in Afghanistan and forced to retire in 2011 has endorsed the petition.
Major General (two star)
McChrystal wrote a nice, short letter of endorsement. I think he is about 88 or so now and Colin Powell referred to him in his memoirs as one of his mentors.
I can't find a bio on him as of yet, but He was a General in the Vietnam War and became a personal friend of General Colin Powell.
General McChrystal graduated West Point in the Class of 1945.
Here is a pic I found of a young Colin Powell being presented the Legion of Merit Medal by General McChrystal. In this photo Powell is a young Major, circa 1972, when Powell worked for Major General McChrystal at the Office of Vice Chief of Staff of the Army. Twenty years later Powell would lead the invasion to route Iraq from Kuwait during
"Operation Desert Storm."
