This is the British edition. Please note that unlike the American edition released the same year it does not say "Foreword by Tom Brokaw" on front. I do not know if that is because it does not have the foreword or because Tom Brokaw is not so known in the UK.

More on the 2002 British edition! It is alternately listed as Publisher: Saint Martin's Press Inc.

Also, I don't think it is really blueish the way the above scan shows; more likely it was caused by the scan.

Here is a smaller pic; not so blue:

Still no mention of Tom Brokaw on front, though the one displayed on Amazon UK looks to be the American one, even though it is listed as "Saint Martin's Press". I wonder if it is because people don't notice the difference? I know I didn't catch it right off.

Super! Good condition? I got my hardbound French one a couple of days back. The inner pages are a little spotted, but not bad, and it is pretty nice overall. :D No dust jacket of course :(

It just arrived from Italy today. Very nice condition, except a half inch tear in the dust jacket on the back. The funny dotty design on the pic and the white on top and spine is because the book was wrapped in protective plastic when the pic was taken.

A couple more Italian ones:

This one looks like David's 1965 Italian edition, except the cover is white rather than his amber (or beige?). I find it strange that they did two different covers in the same year. Also strange that the cover of this edition looks just like an advertisement for the earlier hardcover edition.

This one is even more strange than the previous one; the cover of this edition looks just like an advertisement for the 1965 edition, which itself looked like an advertisement for the earlier hardcover edition. The price on it is a sticker (which I am not going to remove), rather than a printed price.

Hi Eva and David,
Again Thanks soo much for sharing photos of your copies of THAB. I have a quick question that
maybe either one or both of you could answer for me. I think it is a real tribute to Audie that his
book was even published in Germany and Italy, and the subsequent countries that were over ran
by the Axis Powers. I realized that it took years for this to take place, but published it was by
publishing companies within these countries in their own language. Now for my question, Do
either of you know or have heard if THAB was ever published in Japan and especially in their own
language ? Also the same would hold true in China, and or Korea, and or Vietnam ? Just wondering.
Again, thanks guys for the walk down memory lane... Shirley Jean.

Haven't found any. I am mostly hunting on the internet. So far we have Italian, French, Dutch & Norwegian. There are at least 2 more editions of the Dutch translation out there, and I know of at least 2 more editions of the Norwegian one as well. It is hard to find decent images and even harder to find them for sale and/or get the info on the different editions, such as year printed and publisher.

There are several books by other authors also titled "To Hell and Back" or something similar. Could it have been one of those?
