WELL, WE ARE HEADED TO TEXAS TOMORROW. MY WIFE DEBBIE HAS A YEARBOOK WORKSHOP AT THE DFW MARRIOTT FRIDAY THROUGH MONDAY. WE ARE JUST GONNA HANG AROUND DALLAS OR GO TO MCKINNEY(GREAT SHOPPING) UNTIL WE GO TO FARMERSVILLE WEDNESDAY TO VISIT NADINE ON THE WAY TO GREENVILLE.

WE JUST GOT IN THE MAIL TODAY A YEARBOOK FROM THE AUDIE MURPHY MIDDLE SCHOOL. DON'T KNOW WHY I DIDN'T THINK OF IT BEFORE THIS YEAR. THIS IS THE SCHOOLS 6TH YEAR. I COULD HAVE HAD A YEARBOOK FOR ALL 6 YEARS! OH, WELL, BETTER LATE THAN NEVER. I AM BRINGING IT TO AUDIE DAYS IF ANYONE WANTS TO SEE IT. I JUST PULLED UP THE SCHOOL ONLINE AND EMAILED THEM TO GET A YEARBOOK. JUST $28.00 FOR THE HARDBACK YEARBOOK, IF ANYONE ELSE IS INTERESTED. SEE YA'LL THERE!

Hey David, while you're visiting with Nadene can you ask her what year Audie was born in, 1924 or 1925? We've been having a discussion about this and she should know.

Is Debby coming with you? Hope so. Drive safely and we'll see you next Thursday. :P

DEBBIE IS COMING. CRYSTAL WAS ABLE TO TAKE OFF WORK, BUT SHEENA WASN'T, SO SHEENA IS THE ONLY ONE NOT COMING.

I WILL TRY AND REMEMBER TO ASK HER. I ASKED THEIR BROTHER GENE A FEW YEARS AGO AND HE SAID THE REVENUE OFFICE GOT IT WRONG AND IT WAS '24. MAYBE HE HAS BEEN TELLING THAT STORY FOR SO LONG HE BELIEVED IT. WHO KNOWS.

Oh, no - just when I thought it was 1925 - yet AGAIN!

David (or someone else): can you tell me from which movie the photo of Audie on the white horse is, from your wonderful You Tube clip?

It's the one with the line: 'Where is there a white knight upon a fiery steed?'

Also, the one where Audie's hair is all tousled - it was mostly slicked back, and when it was loose  ... My oh my, he was a handsome devil - I seem to be saying that a lot lately!

My mother cannot place the "white horse" movie ...

Edit: I found the movie - both are from "Ride Clear of Diablo". My mother must not have this one. I'll have to check it out.

I didn't refresh my memory with the utube clip, but isn't that from TUMBLEWEED?

As a matter of fact, this is MY FAVORITE Audie movie. 8) 8)

Teri,
I did not go to the YouTube site, but I think you are right, in that the only movie I remember that
Audie had a 'White" horse in was 'Tumbleweeds". Shirley Jean.

No......I was wrong. I just watched the video again and it's NOT from TUMBLEWEED. I'm not real sure about which movie, but it's when he's gone after a horse that's been stolen and he's riding it across the desert from the bad guys. It could be RIDE CLEAR OF DIABLO, but not sure without looking at Sue's book of all the movies. Someone else on here probably knows each movie by heart and will correct me.

TUMBLEWEED (the name of the movie AND THE HORSE) was a small little horse, kind of a dapple gray/white horse.

He rides the white horse bareback, at a dead run. It is definitely from Ride Clear of Diablo. I have a really nice pic; used to have it on my wall when I was still in Denmark. I also have a nice pic of Tumbleweed the horse from Tumbleweed the movie.

I wish I could just attach pics here directly from my hard drive, but I think the only way is to add a URL to a pic already on the web, so I'll have to upload those pics to my Fotki site before I can post them here, which I have to prepare.

Unless they are in the stills galleries on this site for those two pics? As I mentioned in another topic, I do not remember all the pics from all the movies that are here.

Eva, who also needs to give thought to a good signature.

Eva, thanks SO MUCH for posting both those pictures. I have the TUMBLEWEED pix in a "movie still". I've had it forever and it's one of my favorite pix.

Thanks again and I love the signature.

I like it! I also love the pictures you have been sharing with us. You surely have a lot of them.

Have you ever been to Audie Days in Greenville, Texas? You sure would have a lot of interesting stories to tell. Would love to hear more of them.
