What a shame on this country that a real hero lost to a salsa dancer! Why was she even a choice?

Betty,

There is no politically correct way to reply to your question..........sadly it just shows how far down we have come as a society where a salsa dancer from Cuba beats out 4 true American historical figures and now her portrait will hang in the Museum of American History. Like David I never want to see her name in print or her picture ever again. This is a sad day in so many ways. Too many Americans have no sense of what the word "history" really means and what kind of people constitute historical figures and believe me a salsa dancer is NOT one of them. Oh and the voting for this..........highly suspect to say the least!!

Celia Cruz has a website that I just looked at. it seems that the National Museum of History just happens to have a traveling exhibition on Cruz currently on display at the museum during the voting. I know little about the lady, so I will not say anything bad about her. The way the voting happened appears to be mighty fishy, but it's time to put this behind us and starting looking at the Presidental medal for Audie.
