The following link, will allow you to vote on one of 5 people, with Audie being one of the five. The one with the most votes will get an original portrait hung in the National Museum of History.

I voted. After I did, the website lets you see the standing. Right now, Audie is losing. He has 17% and the leading person (Alice Paul ... no disrespect intended, but, who the heck is she??) has 44% and is leading the vote. Tell your friends to follow Larry's link and vote for Audie!

COME ON GANG! WE LET'S GET THE WORD OUT!

I saw that, too, when I voted. Don't know who she is either.

Thank you for providing the link to Ms. Paul, Bob. She is definitely a worthy candidate but in my opinion, pales to Audie. I hope we energize our fan base for Audie and get his voting percentage improved.

An hour ago, when I first responded to the Larry's message and cast my vote, I noticed that the percentage was 17% to 44% with Audie trailing to Ms. Paul. In this time, Audie has jumped up to 20% and Ms. Paul has fallen to about 40%.

This tells me that very few votes have been cast so far and it won't take much to put Audie in the lead ... we just need to get the word out.

I am going to contact some Sergeant Audie Murphy Club chapters that I have helped and see if they will spread the word to their membership. I also alerted Dave Phillips and asked him to post a message to his email mailing list (I hope he is able to do this from Africa). I am also posting a link on the main page so people when they visit the website, will see it and cast a vote.

I would like to ask that everyone contact their friends / mailing list and ask that they too cast a vote. If we all do this, there is no reason why we can't put Audie in the top place and get his portrait permanently hung in the Smithsonian Institute's National Museum of American History in D.C. How cool would that be?

I looked at the results about half an hour ago and Audie had 30% and Ms. Paul had 35%. Audie is making a strong move to take the lead.

Well.....I guess we can only vote once. Or maybe it's just once a day. Anyway, I just checked out the site and Audie was at 49%. I'm going back tomorrow to see if we can vote more than once!

I've sent it to all my "non" Audie friends so hope they'll vote for him, too!
