I grew up in Fort Worth, Texas and I had the biggest crush on him. The walls in my room were covered with pictures of Mr. Murphy. Loved his movies and it was so sad when he passed away.

Been a life long fan and sorry a great man's life was cut short. Loved all his movies and movie to "Hell and Back" was my motivation to join the military service. I served 22 plus years with no regrets.

Audie Murphy is one of my heroes, and definitely one of this country's!! I remember, as a child back in the mid- to late-1960s, my mother taking me to Arlington National Cemetery to visit my grandfather's grave. But not only did we visit my Granddaddy Mills, we visited the grave of President John F. Kennedy, and that of - you guessed it - Audie Murphy! My mother introduced me to him, as it were! I've loved him as if he were my own kin ever since!! He deserves the Medal of Honor, and I'm extremely surprised he hasn't yet received it!!
