dont know a lot of the history of audie except his films which,as a child in the 50s fascinated me,as westerns continue to do so to this day.

One of Audie's films came on the tv this afternoon 'Forty Guns To Apache Pass' and stirred up childhood memories. When I was a child, if I knew there was an Audie Murphy film on, I'd always run home to watch it. I absolutely loved him to the extent that I named all my kiddy possessions after him.
I'm a woman of 47 now and I still have my teddy bear called Audie Murphy, he's sitting on the top of my wardrobe and odd occasions still gets a hug.
It was great to see the film again this afternoon and be reminded of a very brave and handsome man.
