Audie Murphy,was & is one of the best actors. Not to mention a War HERO! Has always been my favorite. Still Love to watch his movies. I remember Audie Murphey after my High School days of 1956 and have watched his movie's and know some of his history. But this site a friend sent me, this site is the best i have ever seen. Loved this young man when I was a youngster...just knew what a kind soul he was.I did not know about all of the medals...just felt that he was the kind of American I wanted to be. May his soul be dancing in a very happy place and may he know how grateful we all are. Added: May 31, 2012

First heard of Audie Murphy when I was in college and took a course on WWII. Was impressed enough on what I heard about this young man and his desire to serve his country that I tracked down his autobiography and was even more impressed. Of course since then I've seen many of Audie's movies and loved them all but the best was when he protrayed himself reliving his experiences in Italy during the war. We need more role models like Audie esecially during these difficult times in our country. If you haven't visited his gravesite in Arlington Cemetery I would highly recmmend that you do on your next visit to the DC area. Added: May 30, 2012
