Audie Murphy was a true American hero. He should
never be forgotten not only for what he did in
World War II, but he was also a fine actor who
died way to young. He made Westerns that I watch
every time they are on TV. Every American should
know who Audie Murphy was and what this true
American did for his country.
If you ever go to Washington DC you need to make
the drive to Arlington, Virginia and visit his grave
and those of all the other heroes who have fought
and died to preserve this great Country.

Having been raised under same roof with my WW2 VETERAN grandfather, and volunteering with him changing flags at all post cemetaries,I learned who Audie Murphy was at young age..He was the voice of so many, made me admire.Watching his westerns, could only imagine how "crafty" he must of been.He was/is fantastic in all westerns he starred..The Unforgiven with Burt Lancaster and Audrey Hepburn,he played the middle brother, whose father was lost to indian lance. His reaction when the Lance hit the door, saying ,"LIKE THE LANCE THAT KILLED PAPA",<------<<<He was under-rated actor, really talented at everything he did.I heard many in Texas, trying to get him some award that only gets honored every odd year, and the list is miles long..Well,,how in the world isnt this man first on the list? Folks around the world watch our old films, and Audie Murphy, sets the finest example for all Americans, still!!!The class of our nation, and he is the voice of so many. For the many actions during the war, that got no mention,GET HIM HIS MEDAL HE DESERVES!!!!

My mother brought Audie Murphy to our attention as young children back 8n the 60's. I believe we've seen most of his movies. She told about him being a hero too. We are Canadians but we appreciate and respect both our and American heroes.

We are very grateful to see the efforts that are being made to remember and honor the names of those in our history who have made a difference in our lives and sense of freedom.

God Bless

I will never forget Audie Murphy. I have taught my children all about him as we now live in the States, and i will continue to teach anyone who's interested, sadly this part of history is not taught in schools any more, but as long as we remember he will never truly be gone.
