Several years after World War II ended and after Audie Murphy's Hollywood movie career was launched, Audie visited his home in northeast Texas where he was met by eager friends and fans. While in a store in Greenville, Texas Audie happily provided youngsters and adults with his autograph. Audie was always ready to do this and knew that he was an important role model for children and adults alike.

This photo was taken by James Narramore, who then was a photographer for the Greenville Herald Banner. Audie later autographed the photo that Mr. Narramore took. Mr. Narramore, who now owns his own professional photography studio, has graciously made the photograph available to the web site.
